@phoebe150 I agree, see I thought I was the only one. They had the best Unplugged performance, like better than Eric Clapton's too as well. I even know some musicians who own this Unplugged CD and that says something.
@bblokes It is a bold statement that I stand by because 10,000 maniacs meant more to me than Nirvana. If everyone has one all-time favorite band in their life, for me, they would tie with the st. joe's folk group for first place. This show, also, stands as their best last concert as the band 10,000 maniacs--the name might have gone on, but not "this" band. And for those of us who never got the chance to see them perform live, it's a gift.
I don't understand why All Music Guide lambasted 10 000 Maniacs' performance at the MTV Unplugged for it's one of the best in the series! Prove with this lovely song!
I bought every song i could on 10,000 Maniacs i could find. The best one was Unplugged...and still is. alot of todays artists couldn't hold a candle to natalie merchant.
I grew up a hair bands and Country fan, yes I would listen to REM or other pop stuff but Natalie's voice always will stand out for me. Many people would swear I was on something if I said I even listened to 10,000 Maniacs. Natalie Merchant will forever rock for me, she just has that sensual voice and linguistic twang for lack of a better work that pulls me in every time, I want to hear and experience every word, get song.
the first time i listened to it was original cassette tape i paid like 2 $ then i knew this was not the real song but an unplugged version to it...classic
She is one fantastic artist.

Hands down the best music that ever came out of MTV unplugged's studio. Even beat out Nirvana.

@phoebe150 very bold statement. not sure if i can agree. both were great, but Nirvana's unplugged changed the course of rock and roll history.
