I am sick of this all corruption in the government and these government officials getting away from it as they are above the law. That congress man who had thousand of dollars in cash hidden in his refrigerator. Who took bribery in cash. And these 2 thieves who NEVER pay their taxes but are in charge of our taxes, Tim Geithner, who is Head Treasury Secretary, and Rangel Who writes our tax polices yet totally impotent to pay his. Plus there are many more..
I wana see a New law made which would give double the normal punishment to any government official who is involved in illegal activities. The government represents us and the whole nation and we absolutely want it clean. You dont want to have a thief as your neighbor than why would you want a thief running your future and your country
"Your citizens back home should have the same rights and benefits that come to you as a member of congress. You shouldn't be treated any differently under the law than ? your citizens back home," Carter said.
Go Carter Go........You are a honorable person and will have my vote if you run for president.
All the rich people have already been getting ? away with it. The same law which governs us somehow doesn't apply to our Head Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, and this congress man Rangel who cheated thousands upon thousands for years and when caught didn't had to pay a penny in interest or penalty from IRS. Meaning if Your rich= law doesn't apply to you.
It may sound like foolishness, but at least it brings attention to the arrogance of our representatives. A situation that is unfortunately ignored by the "mainstream" media.
Whats wrong with not paying taxes--The reNaziCans have allowed the Oil Co's to avoid their taxes for years, We have short memories--I am supprised they (the ReNazIcAns) even want to discuss taxes--
This is no conservative. He is a Rovian type Republican spending his time making a fool of himself (like his Jr Senator Cornyn) with this political grandstanding. He only wins because his district includes a 10000 vote block of neo conservative tight asses in Sun of a Bitch City. These people don't even allow grandchildren to spend the night.
Mr Carter's push for drilling surely doesn't take into consideration his shares of Haliburton or Exxon Mobil. What a nitwit. I'm embarrassed 4 him.
Opps, carter should check the record of his very own republican Tx St Rep who didn't pay taxes for 18 YEARS. this guy conveniently squared things up with the IRS shortly before he decided to run. and what about those corps contributing to carter's campaign war chest? you guessed it, they ain't paying taxes either. (yawn) just another grandstanding stunt by john "BIG OIL" carter.
Carter took $25,000 from CCA, a private for profit prison company, while on the Homeland Security Committe and then helped CCA get a $2.3 million/month contract with Homeland Security to imprison non-criminal asylum seeking families (including infants and chidlren) in CCA's medium security prison in his district. He needs to deal with his own ethical problems before attacking others.
This is "Fair and Balanced?" Carter owns MILLIONS in Exxon stock, and votes for subsidies for the company. When will his District demand Stasmanship rather than Partisanship? We have big problems to be solved, and if all he want to do is pander, he should go home. Carter said that it was a shame the Delay stepped down from leadership after a felony indictment. Nuff said.
Listening to John Carter speak on "equal protetion" and ethics is like taking Bill Clinton seriously were he to be speaking on sexual propriety.
Carter supports circumventing state law and U.S. Constitution with imprisoning non-criminal immigrants who are simply waiting for their asylum applications to be processed, with huge profit to a prison corporation with a horrid record. John has no room to expound on right and wrong. His hands are dirty.

If the the Rangel Rule Act of 2009,HR735
becomes Law all the rich tax evaders with offshore accounts will get away
with not having to pay interest, penalty and/or
prison time.

Well, that sounds like the Republican solution; I'm more interested in getting them both to do the right thing.
BTW; Carter's flack switched this link in a mass email to another with Glenn Beck because he didn't like the blow-back.
John, you need to start having dialogues with your constituents and maybe this wouldn't happen.

Good idea, lets ignore Rangle's problems if Carter has problems also. One bad action negates the other, so that nothing ever gets done.
