  • Yes it does and it is turned on pernamently so Ati gpu s cant run the game at full potencial.

  • Kinda makes you wonder why ATi graphics cards are cheaper than NVidia's. :P

Oh well, I'm still getting an HD5870. I don't care if it doesn't have PhysX, I just wanna play games, heh. Plus, cheap prices ftw.

  • @2007excalibur2007 make sure you get a company with a life time or double life time warrenty

  • Need For Speed Shift supports Physx ?

    I didn't know that !

  • Yeah, its just for the tire model though, and it doesn't even use nVidia PPU processors. It relies on the CPU, so any graphics card can use it.

  • @Xboxlivemgear It does use the nVidia PPU, I have a GTX 260 as primary and a 8600GT as secondary, dedicated for PhysX (configured in nvidia control panel). In any game using PhysX, I noticed that 8600GT increase temperature by 8-10 degrees.

  • @CodeWarriorZX That doesn't mean your 8600 is actually in use - during gameplay your primary card gets hot, thus warming up the temperature of the whole system by a few degrees depending on stress levels

where you'd know is running gpuz and running shift and watch for your 8600 gpu usage and memory usage and compare it in and out of gameply

  • @maroom1 i heard the PhysX engine is CPU based
