  • Useless, but kinda cool, I guess.

  • These are organic light emitting diodes that allow for flexibility. These matrix are very expensive but use less energy and produce a better image, as well as a faster response. These can also create transparent displays and will soon be in on car windshields and such. Real cool stuff.

  • I smell a gimmick!

  • Well, samsung being into mobile phone, and sony into all other gadgets, since they both seem to have their own version, I could imagine Apple having some really serious competition if the flxible screens are indeed of high qualities and not overly expansive, not to mention shipping... no more broken screens on delivery, no more sides to the screen, just put some sticky tape behind your screen, and you're done installing that 40inch wonder ^_^

  • meanwhile in africa...

  • Wtf are you supposed to do with it...

  • The benefits?

you can have a TV display phone, and fold it for your pocket!!

  • @intelliGENeration - no, you can't fold it, that would break the circuits. you'd have to "roll it up".

  • make it touch screen and a music player and then we talking i dont think i can use this as a phone tho

  • The real benefit is making the screen FLEXIBLE, not just, bent. See the related videos on the flexable OLED

  • Only benefit of a flex screen is if you can fold it multiple times. Fold a 20 inch screen into a 5 inch then take it with u....

  • @5heeshi you cant fold it you can bend it. folding it would destroy it

  • @GrenadeCatcher Then it has no benefits lol if it could be folded like paper (which will happen) Then it will be useful

  • @5heeshi Not true. It could be great for windshields, helmets for a HUD in the visor, airplane cockpits. Just have to think outside the box and be creative.

  • So what are the benefits of this?

    Uuuuh... uuuuhhhh... uh....

Yet another way to prove developers sometimes just do something cool when they are bored.

  • @myoxfermani Flexible LCD wristbands?

  • @myoxfermani it swill be more durable. if it flexex then it will not break easily

  • @myoxfermani the benefit is that in the near future you will be able to ware your phone on your wrist as a bracelet

  • @myoxfermani A truly portable tablet comes to mind. Imagine having a tablet you read your magazines and do your browsing on, that you can roll up and put in your pants pocket.

  • @myoxfermani The first man who discovered 'explosive' (gun powder at that time) won't have know that this is the same thing that sent man to the moon.

This new technology is more than a gimmck.

  • @myoxfermani one flagrant benefit : it doesnt break

  • Omg

  • wow

  • iFlex

  • @washingtonclaypictur no ishit.. SAMSUNG !

  • @washingtonclaypictur QUIET....before apple steals it Sent From My Ipod Touch

  • @Coolreaction198 - Apple has worked on flexible screens since the late-1980's, everyone remembers the "knowledge navigator", so you know they'll be the first to have it once the technology is ready. (about 10 years from now)

  • @tnoyy34rt You sir are such a liar, a Korean tech company in 2002 patented this technology then sold the right's to Samsung and Philips company. Google it and see for yourself.

  • flexiblee phone!!
