This is a great song that shows how talented these guys already were at age 16, both in terms of song writing and musicianship. The lyrics could use a little work, though, and Tobi's vocals certainly got a lot better with the years. Hopefully, they'll re-record it one day.

I love the old Edguy stuff, lets say from the beginning to Vain Glory Opera. After that, they became worse.

Today they are still not bad but not really interesting anymore either.

Sometimes it seems that good melodic (speed) metal ist dead today.

And I don't want to listen to all this overproduced plastic sounding stuff.

Sadly, you are right. When Edguy became famous and there was no need for them to prove anything to anyone anymore, Sammet stopped creating meaningful and original music and instead concentrated on becoming the Daddy of Rock (you can hear him say that in one of the new videos).

You should mention Theater of Salvation. It's probably their best album. But what comes after that is just music (and the more popular they got, the more mainstream the music was), not Tobi's ideas and ideals in awesome metallic songs.

You can hear it, compare it to the Savage Poetry album, the old version from 1995, and you can really hear that it´s Tobi. Altho with a younger, moore "noobish" voice. Althou I think he has moore feeling in these older ones. :)

Wow this is such i good song, as are all of thier early (and late) songs but they put so much feeling into these early demos. Can i ask where u got this? I've searched the web all over for Edguy's demos and just cant find them. 5 Stars
