Auron, this particular recording can be downloaded from Amazon for $.99. I hope that helps. Sadly the entire opera was recorded once in the late 70's and the recording is very difficult to come by. I hope this phenomenal opera will be recorded in its entirety soon! Enjoy!
This ouverture is on the SACD of Une Symphonie Imaginere right? Because I have the same recording, but it doesn't sound like if it was recorded in an echo chamber.
You are, of course, correct. we don't know what the artist intended. But there is just too much in Minkowsky's performance that contradicts what we do, in fact, know about XVIII century performance. I generally like Minkowsky's treatments of baroque opera, but this time it is a bit too much.
This is certainly very impressive, but it's not really Rameau. Minkowsky's recording in an echo chamber is more showmanship than musicianship. The Rousset version is undoubtedly closer to what Rameau intended and, at the same time makes very clear how musically inventive and daring Rameau was.
In french we contract the "Je" with the other word when this last one begins by a vowel. I'll do "J'adore". It's pleasant to see a non-french people try to speak french on YouTube, I appreciate that!

Yes, I too believe, that Rameau is undersold. He is far greater, than I lead myself to believe.

Dieu merci, votre pays a life people Marc Minkowski et Christophe Rousset pour ramener ces morceaux de musique d'être oublié.
