phelps lost because he is a loser and a pothead and a disgrace to all of the united states. he used steroids in the olympics and didnt use them here. google the facts if u want he used androtestene to build up muscle mass. i even heard he used coke before his races in the olympics to gain an edge.

OK listen. i am a huge swim fan. i live in charlotte and was there all three days. this is phelps 1st meet since the olympics. thats 10 months. piersol's speciality is backstroke. dont get freaking out since he loss.

For the people who keep on saying that Phelps lost because of pot... IT'S NOT!!!! Phelps was never the best at backstroke. He's only the best at BUTTERFLY! Jeez...

actually...if michael phelps would have swam the backstroke in the olympics he would have been 1st. from the split of his 400IM i'm pretty sure thats what the spectator said. but i do agree he didn't lose because of pot.
and another correction, he's not just the best at fly as i do recall he was the best in everything he did...even though his first olympics all he did was 200m fly. it doesn't mean all he's the best at is that.
