Man!! I thought this bus had a Stop Request sign but it's just that no smoking sign in front of the bus. Oh well... At least this bus has pull cords no tapes I hate tapes. It's all about Pull Cords!!!! It makes the windows look nice.
DAMN I wish we had those in the AZ, United States but all we got is the non electric versions but that is much safer and more conveinent than using tracks or the battery
Actually they use a back-up battery for auxillary power instead of a diesel engine.......so even if the poles are not attached to the wire, the bus can still run for a limited distance on battery power!
bus drivers are not supposed to help people with strollers, wheelchairs or bikes. something goes wrong, people sue. free country and all. that's why i stopped helping anyone. sad when you do good and it gets tossed in your face.
My Girlfriend is a Nanny to my 2 year old niece and when she tries to get on the bus with her and the stroller she never gets helped just snobby looks from tese disgracefull drivers absolute pigs!
Hi Jamie, that's the inverter that converts the DC overhead power to AC. It makes this sound just before turning off (decelerating) and just as you start up and accelerate. It's a cool sound these new trolleys have. The new buses have a/c motors so they need to convert the d/c overhead to a/c to run the bus. I'm the driver in the video. BTW are you Jamie I know from automaticwasher website that owns the new Miele washer?
I am indeed from AWO and I did just get a Miele washer! One of my other fascinations is buses! However, these are much harder to collect, but I do intend to have a least one bus when I'm older, as soon as I can, I plan on getting a commercial liscense!
You gotta be kidding! The bus driver (he's a friend of mine) behind the wheels in this video is also crazy in both buses and washing machines lol! (I am serious!)
I love them! The nicest thing is the power steering :-)) I like the way they accelerate and the very cool sounds they make. My one criticism is the fact that some of them jerk when going through the insulators but that's a software problem that has to do with the inverter losing power momentarily.

Busses are cool

These buses run on electricity > so when they accelerate, more power is used from the overhead power lines, which gives off the 'rwaaa' sound. ;)

Fascinating!!! What is that sound that comes on around 1:13? Almost sounds like a noise a jet plane would make in preperation for taking off...

Since these buses don't have a track what would happen if they took a wrong turn off the overhead wiring?
ECDT1089 4 years ago
The poles would come off, and they have to get back on track by running on EPU.
