  • I have been watching about 7 videos of math teachers, all of them explaining solving systems of equations. You are the only teacher that made me understand it! Thank you so much.

  • i once had this at school, but never understand it. Or didn't i pay any attention to it?

well at least... i do now and i think i understand it right now.

    thanks to you

  • I've met Pat McKeague (the man on camera) at several conferences. He's a very nice man and willing to share his ideas with everyone. His website is free -- much cheaper than what the textbook publishers charge.

  • nice grade 6 math work im sure retards strugle with this

  • @comment69873 At least us retards can spell.

  • what if the equation is

    x=2y+9

    x+5y+5=0

  • old guy is cool!

  • THIS IS GODLY, I REALLY LOVE THIS TEACHER.

  • Hi :)

    What about one with exponents?

    and variables in the exponents?

    With different prime bases?

  • This was extremely helpful. Painful hours of struggle relieved by 3 minutes, 18 seconds of mathematical insight. Thanks!

  • OOLLLLLDDD MOTHERFUCKER!!!! lol....but his method works.

  • Very well explained. I understood it the first time and did not have to watch it over and over.THANK YOU!!!

  • good elimination method lesson, does he have a graphing systems of equations lesson?

  • You're a very good teacher. Thanks for the video

  • my math teacher can do math but cant teach math

  • He got the 3 from the Y so he can take it out

  • vvv agreed. wtf.

  • where the hell he got the -3 from?

  • Very Very helpful thanks!

  • thanks soo much!

    i finally understand!!

  • My algebra 1 teacher just copies everything out of a math book and she doesn't even know how to do it.

  • @NCSportsMan70

shitty teachers are better than no teachers :/

  • @enrichedd Most of the time

  • @enrichedd what do u have against old men!

  • @enrichedd what do u have against old men!?

  • Oh man, thanks so much, I have to solve a system of equations for my Math 10H homework for IB even though we were never taught this.

  • I wish my teacher was this good. Mine enjoys sounding smart and belittles us when we make a mistake.

  • yea, i have the same problem with mine, but i just make his life a living hell with out of the universe questions an solutions that take forever hahahhaha, ^^ if he was so kind as this teacher here, i be nice, good job in refreshing my memory... wooo back to study...

  • mine is the same way...

  • @Hawkeyeharley really? Your teacher sounds like a massive DEUCHE......Im sorry, I used to have a math teacher that would teach us for like 15 mins, then leave, and go get stoned or something, she was kinda a bitch too.....but she liked me, cuz im quiet and sweet....ha.

  • @Hawkeyeharley Absolutely the same i would love to haev a teacher like that cause unlike my teacher i can understand him

  • @ricksta1997 *have

  • WOW!! he's great!! its very helpful.. 5 rating!

  • hey someone help me look i understand this but this girl thats really smart next 2 me told me that she got 2 lines out of doing this..how does that happen?

  • i need to tell my friends about this. i missed class and had no idea how to use the addition method. thank you so much.

  • He worse than my algebra 1 teacher at school

  • Totally stumped! Not sure where he got the -3 to multiply by the second equation.

  • Had to watch this many times until I finally understood it.

  • @TENspeaks i think cause the top is 3 y, so you times it by 3 so it can be cancle out.

  • @TENspeaks He's multiplying the whole second equation by the inverse of the first equation's coefficient of y. That way, both ys will cancel out and only the x variable will be left when the equations are added together. Hope that helps!

  • thanks this is so much better than yourteachermathhelp

  • I know this comment is identical to all the other comments posted, but thanks SO MUCH. I was in algebra 1 in 7th grade and in geometry in 8th grade. I'm going into ninth grade, and I got this algebra 2 math packet for the summer with stuff I haven't done in two years. I had completely fogotten EVERYTHING on it, thus I began my search for a decent tutorial. This was SO HELPFUL, now I won't fail the first thing I turn in. :D

  • I love this MathTV man, thank you so much! I've been in Algebra 1 for almost 3 years now and your videos are the only things that've helped me, haha!

  • O my gosh your a life saver :D

  • WOW Thank you very much your video was really very helpful. Well done!!!

  • dude what school do u teach at

  • So useful exept my variable always comes out to 7x or so

  • your amazing i wish you taught at my school, i mean in three minutes you did what takes my professor 50 mins!! thanks so much

  • such a great teacher

  • These videos are great, thank you so much!

  • thank you for helping me with this, much easier.

  • thanks i was a little confused there

  • Can you do a video on Synthetic Divition?

  • thanks keep it up.. instead of saying same line say that the system has infinitely many solutions

  • Not the same line, but on top of each other would be a better statement in my opinion. Thank you!

  • Why not just multiply the second equation by 2 then subtract it from the first? You overcomplicated it quite a bit...
