  • Great another good recipe to try..Thank You!!!

  • @organic527 You're welcome. We use this recipe a lot. I used it in some Lasagna just this week.

  • Just made this today. Tasty stuff! One problem I ran into was reheating it. I tried the microwave, and it got lumpy real fast. I didn't want to test it any other way without asking. Is there any good method you use for reheating to keep it smooth?

  • @livingtoworship It depends on what you are doing with it. If you are just wanting to re-heat it as it is I would suggest a double boiler on the stovetop. I suspect that the microwave changed its chemistry---thus making it lumpy. I don't use a microwave and have never had that problem.

  • Hi there. I live in UK and had a go at making this. Pine nuts were too expensive, so I used cashews. Couldn't get pimentos anywhere (but I do live in the sticks) so I used sun-dried tomatoes. Just wanted you to know that I love it...fantastic...thanks so much for the recipe :)

  • @tattitiger You are welcome. :) Fresh red bell peppers can be used too. One word of caution about cashews---they are a relative of poison oak and can cause an allergic reaction. It is more likely to happen when they are used in a large quantity and/or for a long time. They will cause a rash and sometimes a sore throat. Pine nuts are expensive here too but probably not as much as where you are. :)

  • @NewEarthWellness Thanks...I didnt know that about cashews...I'll get the pine nuts next time...this recipe is so yummy, it will be worth it :)

  • @tattitiger I used to use them and often had a sore throat because of it and didn't understand what was causing the problem until my uncle Milton Crane MD told me about it.

  • u know i listen to people talk about how expensive things are but no one looks into changing ones life styles until they are forced to, ie.. loss of job, income, etc. we then become survival experts. whatever cuts changes you have to make to stop damaging your health is worth the cost. a vegan once told me you pay the grocer or you pay the doctor! i heard him i'am good now! thanks for the video! i'll try it! amin53362

  • @Amin53362 You are so right!! The best health insurance is a healthy lifestyle. A lot of date sugar and pine nuts could be bought with the money wasted on prescription drugs. I find it interesting how they want to "manage disease" instead of getting rid of it. To manage something is to keep it going.

  • Thank you, I love cheese toooo much and hopefully this will be a great altrnative for me. I hope all is well with you:)

    Olga

  • thank you so much for the video it is very useful <3

  • you would look great with a moustache

  • @spankfoam lol---thanks. :) I don't think my husband would agree.

  • Is there any other nut that you can use in this besides pine nuts? I'm not rich enough to buy pine nuts. Real cheese is almost beyond my budget and this would be 4-5 times the price of real cheese. Not eating pine nuts and real cheese is cheaper than a bypass surgery too.

  • @stevejones1913 raw brazil nuts. I havn't tried them but might work---sunflower seeds maybe.

I can't suggest raw cashews--- they are a close relative of poison oak and can cause allergic reaction plus when they are processed they are subjected to high heat which changes the fat in them causing them to become harmful fat rather than healthy fat. At Weimar (where my uncle Dr. Crane was director of research) they had an outbreak of skin problems among staff and it was from raw cashews

  • @stevejones1913 raw cashews or raw almonds are good in this if you don't have pine nuts.

  • @wpc1013 Almonds yes but for health reasons cashews no. With almonds it is hard to get a smooth consistancy and add slight sweet taste. But are one of the best nuts. However, people that consume raw cashews can (even after having used them for a while) have serious allergic reactions to them because they are related to poison oak. Mild reaction can be a sore throat after use. They clog arteries too. People need unclogged arteries. Sorry I can't agree there.

  • she seems to be stoned :D

  • @Orthagoni Excuse me?! I would never touch such things. I enjoy ggood health too much to want to go that direction. Sober existance is much more fun.

  • I just tried this recipe and man is it awesome! I was missing one of the key ingredients and it still came out great! I forgot to get some nutritional yeast but it smelled and tasted cheesy already. I just ended up adding a 1/8 teaspoon of citric acid to give it a bite like cheddar and voila! Awesome. My only mistake other than missing the yeast was I bought cheap chips to have with it. Next time I am totally going to try the fat free corn chips recipe with it. :)

  • @MsTigerseye77 :) I'm glad you liked it.

  • @NewEarthWellness can we say broccoli and cheese baked potatoes? Thanks again for sharing the recipe.

  • @MsTigerseye77 Yes, those are great with it. Asparagus is one of my favorite veggies with this cheese.

  • @NewEarthWellness One last question. How long does it keep for? 1 week? 2? I am getting ready to pull out some vegan recipes on my website if you would like to check them out

  • @MsTigerseye77 I am most comfortable with it's safety in the first week. After that I get suspicious. :) But my dad and I have used some that was two weeks old and it tasted fine. I would think that the nutrition is diminished the longer it sits. Just make sure it is kept in the frig when not in use. I want to see your videos.

  • @NewEarthWellness hi, can i have your 100% honest opinion on if it really taste like dairy chedar cheese? Please help, i want to make mac n cheese with this but i'm afraid it may not taste like chedar

  • @BlackSkullz09 To me it does but it has been about 30 years since I tasted chedder cheese. That is my honest opinion of the taste. I gave up all cheese when I was in college when I found out that it was causing my serious digestion problem. I found out that after a year of being totally without favorite foods we can actually forget exactly what they tasted like and are content with the change. The more important question is "how much better will I feel without real cheese?"---answer: Fantastic!

  • @NewEarthWellness are cashews ok inplace of pine nuts?

  • @BlackSkullz09 I'm sorry that it has taken me this long to answer your question. Cashews are not a good choice for cooking for a couple of reasons. One of the main problems with them is that they are a close relative to poison oak and can cause allergic reactions. In the process of making them eatable they are subjected to high heat which damages the fat in them making them unhealthy.

  • @NewEarthWellness thnks for the info

  • I don't know! lol---When was that? :) I might have been cooking up something.

  • I am so wanting to start back on vegan foods. I had problems with digestion the first time and recently found that I had poor flora content. I hope to get a Vitamixer soon and try this recipe (my blender isnt very good). Out of curiousity, what is the difference between brewer's yeast and nutritional yeast?

  • @MsTigerseye77 I'm not sure. I think the name nutritional yeast is given to distinguish it from baking yeast. I guess it just sounds better to people wanting better nutrition. :) A few tips for the digestion: Eat some good salt cured olives at meals that contain only salt, olives and water. They are very healing for t digestion. Keep the amount of different foods to min at each meal. Only 2 or 3 different dishes (such as a salad & brown rice OR well soaked, drained & cooked beans with a salad)

  • @NewEarthWellness That was awesome info! Thanks! Do you have a brand of Olive that you recommend? I need all the help I can get. I recently bought Bioflora to help but I dont want to develop a dependence on it. Just want to eat right. All the same I look forward to your other recipies!! The chips you were eating really looked great! :)

  • @MsTigerseye77 If you have a Whole Foods Market their 365 brand is good. Lindsey makes some and you might be able to buy from them direct. Also there is a new grocery chain called Fresh and Easy that carries some that are good. I usually buy the WF brand or Fresh & Easy.

  • @NewEarthWellness I will definitely check out Whole Foods. Tomorrow I will be just wrapping up a 10 day fast and within probably a week I will be moving toward this recipe. I cant wait to tell you how it came out! :)

  • @MsTigerseye77 Keep me posted. :)

  • @NewEarthWellness Will do!!! I have even started posting links in my face book so I can refer to them when I try the recipes and share them with my friends! I have to say though, where were you the first time I tried to be vegan? :)

  • I really can't wait to try this, I'm always looking for a cheese alternative.

  • Yummm!!

  • @tweezee1976 All I can find in the appendix "Yeast Extract" and "Autolyzed Yeast". I'm not sure that those are the same as nutritional yeast. He also lists "malt extract" but malt is simply spouted and dried barley. It could be that the yeast extract is denatured to the extent that it is no longer healthy. I would like more proof on the subject since he doesn't address the subject directly.

  • @tweezee1976 I just checked his book---no mention of it in the index. Do you have a page number? I checked for the words yeast and nutritional, and brewer's.

  • Made it and LOVED it!! THank you so much!! The only problem is Pine nuts are EXPENSIVE!!

  • @laidlawslolita They are still cheaper than a heart attack, stroke or bypass surgery.

  • That is the down side to the recipe.---finding pinenuts. We discovered a couple of days ago that if you add a pinch of sour salt it tastes like Cheese Puffs.

  • Bought all the stuff today, will be making tomorrow! Pine nuts are hard to find!!

  • Yummy awesome, can't wait to test it out.

  • @anotheraka Thank you. :)

  • I am going to try this thanks, I have been learning about the truth of animal fat and its impact on our bodies. I feel it is time to change and stuff like this will help.

  • @kris61876 I'm glad you like it. My husband and I gave up animal fat after watching a video of John Robbins on the subject. He was suppose to inherit the Basken Robbins ice cream company but he refused because he knew what it did to people. That video was so impressive to my husband that he quit that day. Next week we will be adding a parmesan cheese video that my husband invented.

  • I want to make some of that.
