I saw this in theater when it first came out, as a trucker I thought it was the funniest movie I had ever saw. especially when they'd show them slamming those trucks into other trucks with no damage. most trucks have fiberglass hoods that shatter on impact. Certain models of Pete have a sheetmetal hood that should crumple on impact. as for cruise wanting a less flashy truck so as to "not attract attention" from D.O.T. they tend to look harder at trucks that are older then they do new ones.

I didn't expect much at the beginning but I was impressed. This Action movie was very cool and entertaining. Car Chase scenes were awesome and the acting was decent. Patrick Swayze (RIP darling) was brilliant as always plus Brenda Strong, Randy Travis, Meat Loaf, Brian Kelly, Gabriel Casseus, Charles S. Dutton and Stephen Tobolowsky were great as well. The final scene-chase was memorable.

God, I miss the 90's so much!

what is that ,that almost unhooks at 2:55-----maybe the air foil on the Pete ? hard to tell --it's only there for a sec. or 2 . Notice with all that trailer slapping , no one is tapping mirrors ? @peepeevagi Actually it was realeased on DVD i bought it on DVD about 5 months ago because i wore out the vhs tape lol. i bought it at SAM the Record Man. there is only one of them stores left and its in Belleville, Ontario. but you can probably find it somewhere around where you live.

no, it was a Cat, the truck is a 1994 Peterbilt 379, with a 3406B 425HP Cat, 9 Speed Tranny equiped with a jake break, I have a buddy that owns the truck down in Australia, that's why I know this all, the truck you hear with the Detroit on the mountain what the White Truck that jacknifes on the bottom on the hill
