australians never say redneck, americans dont know anything about other countrys except for there own, and they think all we do is drink beer and have bbq's and say "g'day mate" and stuff like that all the time. i rarely see people ever having a bbq anymore and most people dont like the taste of beer.
i dont mind being called a redneck but too call me english is fighting words. im australian of irish convict decent dont fuckin call me english. if australians are racists then so what i say, if racism is the only sin we commit than i say its one we can live with.
kevin rudd has the humor of a dead koala, ,, he,s a weid bastard for a queenslander becouse he,s never been seen in public pissed, xxxx lager yumm yummm
Us Aussies live in the BEST place in the world..... and we dont really care who comes here as long as ur willing to work and pay taxes,,,, sure we like to drink and have BBQs but god! i would like to see u come and live here and not want to suck down a frosty cold beer!!!!
@buttfig We love to drink beer and have barbecues too! Americans love Australians. I have never in my life heard anyone say anything about Australia other than ("Man, I would LOVE to be able to go there"). We just can't afford to!
Why does anyone really care what celebrities say anyway? Most of them are pampered and have little or no idea what real life is about anyway. And what the hell is wrong with being redneck? Where I come from redneck is a good thing, it means you can fix just about anything, hunt, fish, build a house. We should be asking rednecks to compare actors and actresses. But they are way too busy with important stuff, like hunting, fishing, you know, real man stuff. "F" Robin Williams anyway...

i laughed so hard watching robin Williams say that..its so true:P and im a full blooded aussie:) hes definitely one of the funniest comedians out there!
I only take offence because my family is extremely proud of our Irish Heritage. To be called English rednecks is a kick below the belt for those of us without the English blood. ;)
Goes to show the difference between Aus and the US I am sure they would have blown up and it would be everywhere over there if it was one of us saying that sort of thing. Most Aussies haven't even heard about it but frankly couldn't give a shite.
@rhart49 The Americans' opinions on the Irish is even more negative than their opinions on the Aussies, believe me. You only have to watch The Simpsons or Family Guy to see this. I'm English, but my Mum's Grandmother was Irish.
Australia is a culturally diverse country and although you say that we might be 'racist'. Im sure that if others where put into the same living conditions they would understand that there are so many amazing nationalities and cultures. I live in a country town in NSW and have lived in Sydney and i find that both are culturally diverse and i have ran into 'bogans' and 'racists' but the majority of people are just friendly people who sometimes misunderstand another persons culture.
@totodasmall : I mostly agree in what you wrote here except in the part that I said that Australian might be "racist" which I did not . My experience living here have been very good and found Australians,in general, very friendly and willing to give a "fair go" to everyone :)
@Cascade3891 : I appreciate your honest feedback. My personal phylosophy is not to stereotype and try to get along no matter the native nationality, I really believe in the Aussie giving a "Fair Go" ;). For instance I had an Indian neighboor who was nice and a very good friend. Of course, it must be some Indian bad eggs as well as in any nationality including born Australians lol. Now, I have not had any experience with muslims myself, so I do not have an example there . Have a G'Day :)
@carlosreyes11 dude, please don't judge Australia based on this disgusting tosser. every single person i know is an advocate for immigration and multiculturalism. cascade 3891, go move to london with pauline hanson and rid us of your bigoted views.
@Cascade3891 I read your comment, what u have to understand is Indians split into a hundreds of groups, north Indians ,ecspecially punjabis are arrogant, but thats not the case with evryone,i live here in australia and i have a lot australians as friends, they seem real nice atleast.just letting u know that ,all Indians are not the same.
@Cascade3891 Americans are a bit uncomfortable with Muslims as well but it's politically incorrect to say so. Other than that...I think Aussie's are great!
@idolmind2008 : Well I hope that we are talking about the same thing lol. In any case we have our kind of "red neck" that we call "Bogan". I have ran into some of them in Sydney and Hobart, they looked friendly to me but I did not hang out too long with them to have a good opinion ;)
Australians are renowned for being able to laugh at ourselves...and I think the average person probably couldn't care less about the comments....I think this was an overreaction.... Robin Williams makes jokes about wherever he goes.
@DebsFavouriteThings : I think that our PM is kind of moody. Sometimes he can show up in Rove very cheerful and friendly and other times he behaves weird to say the least ;) In regarding to Robin Williams well he is a comedian probably the ebst in that field ;)

@buttfig but you guys love the queen...
she don't pay no taxes
natmanprime 1 year ago
@natmanprime actually since 1999 the Queen has paid income tax which is kind of strange as she's essentially paying herself the money back
irishgodfatherchris 1 year ago
@irishgodfatherchris hahahaha really???
wwell well
i think it's crazy playing around with money since she owns the land
inflation can go out of control, she don't need to give a fuck
in fact thats good, because idiots like buttfig above can work even harder
while the queen makes sure there's enough comfortable people around her to defend her...
and convince buttfig it's the lazy foreigners

@bugstrut The whole drunk thing would get a little annoying although it'ld be a good excuse if you're an alcoholic, at least it is for Australians.

Yeah I'm aussie. The redneck characterisation is pretty accurate.
Oh yeah ... where I live, we don't like Muslims and wish they would get out of the country. Same with Indians.
So a bit racist too, but nobody will say it in public.

English rednecks? As far as I am concerned, Australia will be an indian-arab-asian colony by the end of this century.
