Wow! Those were the days of the really great Dark Shadows! I'm currently finishing up the series... Bramwell & Katherine have been locked in the secret room, and are facing Brutus Collins ghost... But it is no where near as good as this! The last nail has been driven, and the actors knew it at this point in he story.
reminds of the edgar allen poe story the black cat in the movie peter lorri bricks his wife and vincent price in the wall but without him knowing his cat was walled in to
Only Barnabas would think of laying bricks in his Sunday best. Those 18th century gents had many talents. This is clever work pairing the two segments whereby the two adversaries meet again. And, the wall gets higher...
Felt so sorry for Barnabas...he's now human and faces death at the hands of the 'man of God' Reverend Trask.
Am surprised that Trask didn't call Aunt Abigail for the 'trial'. I think it would have made more sense than Jeremiah. Jeremiah had been a kind soul in life, embittered in death only because of Angelique's medling. Abigail was more self-righteous, less forgiving.

Perfect timing for the ghost of Reverend Trask and bad timing for Barnabas Collins. At this point in Dark Shadows, Barnabas was removed from the vampire curse. It seems that the ghost of Jeremiah Collins still holds a grudge after Barnabas was manipulated by Angelique's actions into killing Jeremiah in a duel over Josette back in 1795. And how about that smile of evil payback for the ghost of Nathan Forbes. This was Dark Shadows at its best.
Except, in this the weakest storyline of all (Adam-Eve), one of the five greatest DS scenes ever took place, the confrontation between Nicholas Blair and Rev. Trask--Trask kicked his ass but was soon phased out--too bad, the good guys needed help bad then.
so trask got walled up in the 18th century and barnabas not as a vampire gets walled up in the 20 century?
