The Phil govt have been aware of problems concerning the population, abuses of OFWs, dysfunctional justice system, govt graft and corruption for more than 40 years but not much have been done.

The Phil. Constitution has so many flaws but the main reason is the govt has been tainted by incompetent political dynasties attributed to nepotism in the Senate and Congress whose main concerns are their own and cronies interest that manifested throughout living conditions of the general population.

I was at a forum on the RH Bill in the University of the Philippines Diliman last December 7, 2010. Tatad is a very good example of an intellectual and a moral charlatan. I was surprised that some students in the University of the Philippines applauded a very tendentious speech by a former lawmaker which shows ignorance of basic biology, economics, and philosophy.

I moved back to Philippins February this year. I've always wanted to "change" the country for the better. I know i cant really do much just myself, but i realized that feeding, educating, and passing on values to the children could make huge impacts.

I don't believe the state should be responsible for prevention. Its the parents responsibility, if they can't afford condoms then they better control themselves. I do believe it is the states responsibility to take care of its children.

I absolutely agree with you. The Catholic Church did little to curb the explosion of the population. Now the country has a huge population barely supported by its economic resources and per capita incomes are spread thin, not to mention there is a huge income inequality gap. The government is encouraging it's citizens to migrate overseas, while doing little to curb corruption at home.
