@richboulder Hi , Well sound wise they are very similar. Cosmeticaly the oasis is better looking than the m3 and sports a huge display. The OS runs on a Hard drive versus flash memory in the m3, and you can record audio to the HD and do not need to upgrade memory at all. The oasys sound wav library is also a little larger I think... Great knobs on the Oasys as well. price is the only problem, but they have been recently discontinued and the price is dropping on used ones as well.
The SFX at 3:17 (the highest C): How do you play such a note on the Korg M3? Was it an audio file you assigned that key to? Or is it an actual instrument in the M3 itself?
I'm thinking of purchasing an M3, and am curious about what it can do.
Very good performances! Keep up the good work! :D
Hi, Thanks. The sound that was on the highest c key is one that was programmed on the M3. Kind of a falling sound effect that I made and then assigned the key range so that it triggerered only when the top c key was pressed. .
@jomarcavalcanti It's a phase variance between the frequency coming from the power supply feeding the camera and the one feeding the Korg. Same way that an airplane propeller can look like it's standing still or going backwards, or a car hubcap. As module19 said, you don't see that effect "live", same way you don't see the lights flickering at 60Hz (North America) or 50Hz (Europe) . . . too fast for human perception. You're seeing the effect of an almost-in-phase recording device.
When I was at art school, I had to study this film and write an essay on it. No mention was made of the wonderful music in any of the studies I had to plough through. I must've watched it about 6 times and the music was the most enjoyable part of the experience. I wondered how it was made. Thank you!
With your talent I hope you are working up some original material - if you already have it done could you point me in the right direction. Kudos and Props...
Hey Sam, thanks for the nice comments. I have a lot of original material. Just finding it hard to record and post it it lately. I have a family and a day job that keeps me busy, and they do not understand my obsession with audio and synthesizers :-)
I am going to try and lay down some tracks in the nest week or so. I also just changed my equipment around a bit and am using the m3 with a Access virus Ti more which I am so happy with it looks like it will be replacing my analog gear for sure.
I know what you mean, before I remarried I did a few albums using the Korg 01w and Fizmo as main axes but since going back to work and home duties...I have satisfied a lot of gear lust but never really polished anything publishable over the past couple of years. We can't all make a living at this. Even Keybrdwzrd says he can't find the time to really do what he wants to do with Music but he got his album out a few months ago....cheers for him. I like the Blade Runner scene you used...big fun!
I hear you there. People just don't get it. But god man do not get rid of the analog.. I love what you did with the virus in the other video but the moog is great for other stuff. I get incredible Boards of Canada sounds off of it and you know it will never go out of fashion. I plan on getting a virus b or c at some point but will not sell my voyager ever...
how, in GODs name did you figure out all the nuances??? This is perfection. Not only does one have to be technically brilliant, but also understand how to apply the right switch at the right time, what a headache, the music you create takes that headache away i would guess. =)
How did you learn to play it at all, let alone so flawlessly? are there exact instructions or was it that and a combined process of figuring it out on your own?
No matter, Incredible, thank you so much for this.
Wow, Thanks for the nice comments. Its one of my favorite Vangelis works and I have listened to it so many times that its in my head. Did my best to program the synths to emulate his sounds from the CS-80 and Roland VP 330 Vangelis used on this, but nothing can replace Vagelis's work on this. He is a Master and he also added his own percussion with lots of vast reverb. . The lead sound is not quite right, I am now doing it with a Access Virus Ti instead of the moog and it sounds even better.:-)
Thanks! I am going to do another using my Access Virus Ti Polar for the lead sounds. Its filters do a better job of emulating original Vangelis's Yamaha CS-80 sound. :-)
I have a voyager sig edition and I have been struggling to get this sound. Do you have your patch explained anywhere? Thanks

that really impressed me

I heard both version, and gotta say that minimoog lead sounds better to me, less 'synthy' and more rich and is closer to original.

sorry about the stupid question but why your leds blink like that.. camera delay?! maybe.. cause mine don't blink at all.
jomarcavalcanti 2 years ago
Hi, For some reason my video camera picks up the LED frequency of the M3. Does not blink to the eye.
