If you say you need to hunt to live then I would expect you to do it with a hand carved bow and arrows, not a impulsively purchased $1200-3000 shot gun just so you can get your jollies off with head shots.Seems like quite a waste of money for a starving family that has no guarantee you will even catch anything

Head shot are about being confident in your gun and in your abilities if you shoot ALOT and are confident i dont see a problem with it. I have made head or neck shots my entire hunting career, but i wont take a gun into the woods that doesn't shoot at least a 3/4 inch 3 shot group at 100 yards. I have hunted with people that sight guns in with a pie plate and if they can hit it at 50 yards they go to the wood and i can bet that most of the people complaining are that way. Great Shot!!! :)
i have been hunting for about 4 years now and i have killed 3 of my 4 deer with head shots and never messed its head up....i dropped my 8 point at about 150 yards walking toward me with a shot to the head it never hurt the horns or anything.
Head shots are the worst shot to take!! Ive been hunting deer for well over 30years and never shot a deer in the head.I would pass on it first to many variables that could go wrong.Why take a chance at wounding the animal!
there's nothing wrong with a head shot with good ammo and rifle. Further , a head shot does not ruin meat like a heart shot. The shock from a heart shot ruins adjacent meat. If you are not a precise shooter , or if the range is too great , shoot for the heart.

@Bassist700 agreed. dont try to be a sniper. you're minimizing your target by aiming for the head. a slightly misplaced shot, and you can end up wounding the animal and not killing it. better to go for a vital shot like lung/heart where the target area is much larger and have a better chance of hitting.

@MDM781 coming from a Scottish working estate, gamedealers are always pissed off when you hand over deer that have been shot through the heart because 99% of the time the front end is unusable. Head shots are usually cleaner as well.

i am a hunter and i will never aggree with the head shot. ive seen in person what happens when it goes wrong. the jaw gets destroyed and the deer dies of dehydration or blood loss. but as of me being a hunter congrats on the distance of the shot, but please understand that there are to many varibles in this. and if you respect the animal you are hunting you wont risk that

You are a idiot. Shoot them in the heart, lung, or lower neck. I hunt and I'll never shoot a deer in the head. Actually it's just pure laziness for shooting a deer in the head. You are too lazy to go look for it.

Head shot are about being confident in your gun and in your abilities if you shoot ALOT and are confident i dont see a problem with it. I have made head or neck shots my entire hunting career, but i wont take a gun into the woods that doesn't shoot at least a 3/4 inch 3 shot group at 100 yards. I have hunted with people that sight guns in with a pie plate and if they can hit it at 50 yards they go to the wood and i can bet that most of the people complaining are that way. Great Shot!!! :)

i have been hunting for about 4 years now and i have killed 3 of my 4 deer with head shots and never messed its head up....i dropped my 8 point at about 150 yards walking toward me with a shot to the head it never hurt the horns or anything.

Head shots are the worst shot to take!! Ive been hunting deer for well over 30years and never shot a deer in the head.I would pass on it first to many variables that could go wrong.Why take a chance at wounding the animal!

there's nothing wrong with a head shot with good ammo and rifle. Further , a head shot does not ruin meat like a heart shot. The shock from a heart shot ruins adjacent meat. If you are not a precise shooter , or if the range is too great , shoot for the heart.

@Bassist700 agreed. dont try to be a sniper. you're minimizing your target by aiming for the head. a slightly misplaced shot, and you can end up wounding the animal and not killing it. better to go for a vital shot like lung/heart where the target area is much larger and have a better chance of hitting.

@MDM781 then i guess it comes down to the shooter doesnt it...i mean you could also maim an animal going for a body shot and grazing it, but if your a good enough shot then *ideally* a head shot is probably the most painless....but im no hunter and i have no experience, but the original guy i was responding to was basically saying its no fun to shoot the head because its too easy and quick of a kill.

@MDM781 coming from a Scottish working estate, gamedealers are always pissed off when you hand over deer that have been shot through the heart because 99% of the time the front end is unusable. Head shots are usually cleaner as well.

Head shots are for sickos. Crippling a deer is bad enough but blowing off it's lower jaw and turning into a bleeding retard is the worst. This video only inspires other people to hunt like morons. Anyone who swears by the head shot should never be given a rifle. Even if you do kill the deer- who wants to admire that messed up animal when you hang it from the tree? Go for the heart or neck shot.

I'm a novice hunter. I go by a rule I set for myself. "Only take the shot I know I can hit". Whether it be a head shot or heart shot. I only go for what I feel comfortable with at the perfect moment that I know I can hit properly.

i am a hunter and i will never aggree with the head shot. ive seen in person what happens when it goes wrong. the jaw gets destroyed and the deer dies of dehydration or blood loss. but as of me being a hunter congrats on the distance of the shot, but please understand that there are to many varibles in this. and if you respect the animal you are hunting you wont risk that
