  • It was a tremor, people. It was not strong in this area to get the camera moving. like what it says in the info, it was a rocking back and forth. I know because I went through a tremor a day ago.

  • tbh the camera would of been shaking how the water did that i dont know

  • am i the only person in barbados who didnt feel anyyyyything?

  • wow what a fucking waste of film daft twat.

  • Bring part one and two earthquake tremor in supermarket? Why delete them for? Get THEM back. Undelete it!

  • FAKE! Camera and surroundings are not shaken but only the water

  • @Godservative True that!

  • Comment removed

  • nothing but the water moved

  • interesting.

  • The patio furniture didnt move, but cool video man.

  • Where's the part 1 and 2 in the supermarket.

  • wave pool

  • I wonder why the camera did not move or anything else except the water ?

  • i'm from barbados, and this is the first and only footage of that tremor that i've ever seen, thanks for posting!

  • How could anybody survive this? It's a miracle!

  • Wow!! =O

  • Wow!! =O

  • Hey look it's a wave pool!

  • wave pool!

  • Photoshop rocks...

  • i would be in the water it looks awesome :) if the shake got any big i would have been like IN THE CAR WERE MOVING!!

  • i wanna be in that pool

  • People have told me stories about their pools during quakes. Thanks for posting this. It's interesting to see and now I know exactly what they're talking about.

Also, the comments about a wave pool: Wouldn't the waves go longways and not side to side? They go longways in wavepools here in Arizona, anyway.

  • Cool

  • tsunami

  • nothing wow the pool is fine just nothing

  • Earthquake attacks the balkan regions

    youtube.com/watch?v=aioRYHoSP9o

  • I do think this a wave pool because somthing has to move an inch

  • omfg its a wave pool for christs sake

you all are dumb to believe this piece of crap

look at the surrounding...its not moving an inch

  • @mrssasukelover look at the trees at the right VERY carefully dumbass!

  • @mrssasukelover you retard its not a wave pool i lived in barbados and the way the earthquake happened nothing would have moved, the earthquake was a swaying motion rather than the usual violent shacking

  • @BajanMoi yeah sure you have

  • @mrssasukelover I was at work at the harbour when it happened and it was an earthquake! I never want to experience that again. People were running out of the stores. There was also a tsunami watch because Barbados is surrounded by water. My mom saw this in her pool too and she thought she had suddenly developed vertigo because as she watched the water in the her pool swaying she felt the house tilt. You should research first before you comment on something. It makes you look dumb.

  • @ChantillyGurl wow ok well it just happens to look photo shopped so go to hell lol

  • cool! shame you cant really see the peoples

in this one you can and they also really look scared:

    youtube.com/watch?v=HnYQXId3q5E

  • tsunami!!!!

  • lol i bet it would be fun like hell to try to surf the little wave in the pool prob eat shit in the pool

  • Why did the camera remained still? I mean it didn't shake or move at ...

  • @Silviumarin water is more effected by yh earth moving as apposed to a fix camera on a fixed house on the ground...

physics my friend, stay in school :P

  • @draconite420 Yeah, right. Well, I admit that the water is mor AFFECTED by the quake, but still, making that amount of water moving like that requires a pretti intense quake, so why didn't the camera even shake a little? Nor the other houses? Just a little bit? While an earthquake, one can actualy see buildings and earth waving... These didn't... Not a bit.

And I'm way pass school and that kind of physics my friend ;)

  • @Silviumarin that would be true if this was a more severe weathquake but it belive it was a 'weak' aftershock " it was more like a rocking back and forth" that is in the discription, it wasnt a violent shaking, nor large enough to cause waving, at least noticibly anyways. Are you trying to say this is fake? You can also see the tree branches moving side to side as well. And you dont need it to be intence if its 'slower' than ud see this kinda stuff all over and im sure there is more recroded

  • Interesting seeing it from before the beginning!

    Thank you for posting this.

  • ooo that looks kinda fun without the shaking and the waves

  • This is absolutely a really great video. Shows the actual S waves from the earthquake on the water surface before the real moving occurred! It even magnified the vision of the S waves with the casting of the waves shadow on the bottom of the pool. This is just superior stuff! Thanks so much for posting!

  • how come the chairs didnt move? that did look cool w/ the water

  • @insightllc WOAH!! That's pretty intense. A bit too intense for me.

  • Fascinating. Thanks for posting.

  • I would be VERY seasick if I was in the pool...

  • is a fake è tutto falso la telecamera non si muove di un cm???

  • scusa ma nn si dovrebbe muovere anche la terra?

  • trees didn't move and thu cam

  • OMG I can die know....................

  • ma scusa nn si dovrebbe muovewre la telecamera??

  • JAY Z

  • awesome video !

  • earthquake or not. this rocking pool water is not worth posting. lol.

  • AHhhh okey i got it...

the whole area is shaking in the same direction, only the water not, because its not ''hard'' matereal...

now ok...its no fake, sry, but now i got it ;)

  • please stop doing fake things about earthquaques its really not funny!

  • @justmexxx1000 this is real i live in barbados i felt it so get a grip

  • its real!!! i live in costa rica, earthquakes are basically weekly here!! its real!!

  • if this is an earthquake, the camera should move also..

and its very obvious that the pool is the one moving beacause if you'll take a look at the stairs at the right,, it is also moving...

    duh..!!

  • I'm sorry I'm from Barbados and I am having a hard time believing that this was even taken in Barbados. I was here when we had the earth tremor in 2007, there is no way that this camera would be so still.

The tremor was measured at 5.0. It was not enough to do any real damage except structural in terms of like pieces of tile falling off buildings etc. The tremor did shake us up. The amount of shaking we experienced there is no way that this video is in BIM. sorry. I dont believe it

  • @desisweet Yes the is true i have never herd of a

    earthquaque in Barbados

  • @danlewis2344 well.. i experienced it

  • not fake its called a seiche its from even the slightest earthquake or a strong one far off the largest was 1,360 miles away in mexico and rocked water out of a pool at the university of arizona

  • fake not a drop of water gets out of the pool sry, but true.

  • @enriquesford hmm... seconds 42-44 water does come out the pool in the top left hand corner of the pool..

  • It's a Fake, only the water is moving ?Mmm No the Trees, furnitures and building? I dont' believe you .Sorry

  • @azdificultoso Yes, they do move.. are you blind?? They all move!! it is a different movement I tell you 'cause I've been in two earthquakes. Sorry for my english.

  • lol!

  • why is the cam not shaking ?????? -.-

  • @eencore92 Because if you read the description it says "We didn't experience a violent shaking, it was more like a rocking back and forth."

  • Yea in November a few years back there was a quake in the St. Lucian waters, that shook alot of the islands in the Carib. The Tremors were felt all the way down to Guyana. Barbados was one of the islands that got shook. I think the tremor Babados felt was a 4 point something. That is serious enough to feel but know big damage was done there.

  • Wow that's so cool, that you caught the water during that quake. I dont know why everyone on this site goes out of their way to disprove EVERYTHING especially with stupid details that dont make sense.

  • wow

  • i remember this day....i didnt feel it cuz when it happened we were driving through a rock road and i guess the tires of the car absorbed the shock..but everyone was running out of their houses and all the pictres ad ornaments in our house had fallen....it's so scary to think that this can happen in the Caribbean but...if my memory serves me correctly, we are directly on a plate called the Caribbean Plate, so geographically, it's probably gona happen again...sigh

  • the trees do move, and the building doesnt move if it is a rocking motion earthquake, only things built into the ground like pools for instance move! look at every tree it rocks back and forth, plus if you have another way to make the water move like that then i would like to hear it!

  • I think its real. Whats gonna make the water move like that? AND! Ive seen 'real' earthquake videos where the camera doesnt move, its because its strongly holding on the the building so it moves with the building, and the building moves with the ground so it looks fake but it isnt

  • sooo fake i feel stupid commenting on this but i suppose i had tooo....why would you pretend that an earthquake happend in barbados or any country low life sadooo n before you start going on why i was watching your video its only because i was looking at earthquake clips n dis stupid video popped up...fuckin bitch get a life man

  • something made the water move, but Im sure no one made your brain think of moving the camera a little bit so it would look like an earthquake!

  • fake

  • FAKE!!!!! How come the palm trees are not moving at all??? someone created a bullshit video...

  • actually if u look carefully they are moving the ass to why the camera is still the building is strong

  • @allout1034

Definetly fake. I have seen vids of real earthquakes and if this quake was enough to move that water back and forth then the camera would move and the chairs. Trees. possibly the wooden fence.

Plus how perfectly the water does not overflow the side. The water just stops too perfectly.

  • In fact they are moving its real

  • dont feed the troll.

  • wow no one believes there was a tremor in barbados....wat dumb ppl there are in the world........sigh anyhow there was a tremor i bdos exact date 29th November 2007......u dont believe me go curl up somewhere and die

  • awesum pool so unique

  • Great video, thanks, I was mesmerized...awesome how the earthquake affected the water...

  • @rainallday I was mesmerized too lol

  • well if you lived here, you would know that is a security camera recording the pool area of one of the resorts we have on the island. The name of the resort is Southern Surf. But I guess you know everything. If you know so much why isn't the wave moving from left to right as you are trying to say instead of up and down as seen in the video use that great common sense you are telling us about "Genius" lol

  • No need to get upset, there is another video on youtube that was recorded of another swimming pool when the quake happened in barbados, not the bahamas. You will see in that video also that the water in the pool behaved the same way. I am sure also that the average barbadian can't afford a wave generator of that size. I'm just telling you this because I live in Barbados and it really did happen

  • I bet u that wuz probably a 2.4

  • @Godservative it was most definately REAL. I was here and building rocked back and forth and there was some damage to some buildings. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life! I was terrified! I can't imagine what the Haitians are going through. The one that hit us was 100 miles deep in the earth and it was 7.2 that is why we did not get greater damage.

  • I could safely tell you that this is real, it happened on november 29th 2007. Just look it up on google. The reason that the water behaves that way is because the earthquake happened deep within the earths crust so the frequency of the energy displacement was lower and it caused a swaying motion. If it was closer to the surface of the earth's crust it would have been a more voilent type of shaking plus it happened north of us (Barbados) but many other islands including Guyana felt it.

  • agreed, and an earthquake do not have a regular frequence... nature do not have regular frequence, so that the water will move like that, thats not nature ^^

i wanna have a pool like that

hmm maybe the pool is absorbing the power of the earthquake so that the water moves..

(sry for my bad english, im just a german nothing :D)

  • no this is real, we had a lil shake in bim when that earthquake hit um it was martinique i think, very slight shake but had everyone panicking cause we arent used to much earthquakes in barbados my mom told me the last one we had was decades ago

  • not fake at all - if the natural oscillatory frequency of the pool is near the frequency of the earthquake wave train, the pool will slosh while the trees and buildings show little apparent movement. You will often see the same thing indoors with hanging lights - a mild, long-period shake of a distant earthquake will set the chandelier in motion.

  • fakeee

  • its a wave simulator

  • Nice try, but I noticed the trees and such are looped while the water is moving side to side. If you all haven't noticed, look carefully half way if not, earlier on the right tree that is in a video loop. I did this exact sort of video in college last year which was fun.

  • @scyber12 I live in Barbados and I can tell you it was REAL! And it was very, very scary. It felt as though the ground turned to water and was wavering under you. My whole body was "off" for days after it. Look it up on Google before you make comments without facts.

  • bajanislandsun, I am exp. in video and creating, and this was not a true video. There is no specified date for one, so how can you say you remember this tremor? We did this in college and I have a thousand dollar program that simulates these things. I am not here to argue, I am stating they did a good job with this video. The chairs, awnings, and the pool net did not MOVE. The trees are looped, to make them LOOK like they sway, but they are repeating ONLY. You could be lying where you live too..

  • is false only the watrer move

  • its not earth quake prolly , its TSUNAMI :P ,and its not debate that it happend or not i barbados , its about if its real this video or not . i see some stir form start in the left corner and its blur , & this type of swaying can b created easily manualy too , if sm one shake water from below surface for sm time ... it wud start moving all of it like this , and leaves shud move they r not attached firmly to ground and they r not moving that much either

  • its FAKE , the camera didnt moved how cud that be lol wa sthe earth quake limited to pool area only

  • Trippy

  • all you people have to do is to put "barbados earthquake" in google!

  • If people would to the effort to look further than the pool, they would notice that the plants and trees are ALSO moving.

Kinda hard to fake that unless you've got like 10 kids which secretely hide and make the plants move.

  • This is not a fake...This is real earthquake.I seen Part 1 and 2 which inside shop shaking.

  • no sound is fake, sorry. :S

  • and what college did you go to to determine that this is fake??

  • and you?

  • no sound intresting unlikely if it was an earth quake

  • It's called a "seiche" or "standing wave." It's not fake at all. Lakes and pools around the world did this after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. After the Alaska earthquake in 1964, some were recorded in Australia.

  • bull

  • This is called Wind isn't it ?

  • i rememba dat day i was home and he hole house start ta shake omg i run out side so harddd den chaa

  • wave genorater

  • prolly just a wave genorater

  • there is really only the water moving!

  • asdsadd

  • only the water is dancing

  • Can't imagine how anyone in their right mind could try to say this is fake, but then to top it off by saying there's no water spilling out of the pool?? Dude get your prescription checked if you can't see loads of water spilling out!! The concrete around the pool is soaked and has ripples running over it when the water overflows!

Anyhoo - it's good to know that no serious damage or injuries resulted from this.

  • @inchikiAHO I agree.. can see water spilling out also..

  • i was in the bus terminal @ cheap side when this hapend

a lady said "dem people drilling again"

    i was like uh? o_O

cant u tell its a tremor!

  • i dont see the trees moving..hha maybe i need glasses..

  • earthquake in barbados? wow,i am sorry i miss that.....i felt the tremor barbados had some time back, that was cool. u should see most christian fanatics and jesus freaks getting scared, lol,it was pathetic,i think they should learn about the outside world.and the many desasters that occurs daily.also the man made ones. common people what will be will be,chill, and "live and let live"

  • That's the pool at Southern Surf, across from Accra...... was there a few years ago.

  • yup

  • hey he has a wave pool that so cool

  • a surveilance camera at the pool!

    sweet!

  • imagine de ppl at de beach....hmmm..i rememba dis day like yesterday...lol..i run out my house wid my chicken necks in my hand lol

  • Lookie @ the water. O:

  • Oh for Gods sake could people please stop claiming EVERY video on YouTube is a FAKE!!!!! Why would someone fake a video of a pool in a earthquake!? It makes no sense! e.g. the M.J. ghost videos. They're not FAKE, as in doctored, Photo Shopped etc they're just not M.J's ghost. It's driving me slightly mad!

  • relax sandwich person =)

  • I'm sorry. I got a bit carried away back there. I'm just sick off all these FAKE claims. I'll try not to mention it again.

  • It's ok, just dont lose your mind, is not worth it =)

  • @knockersandwich just like the song i'm going slightly mad

  • wow u guys are fucken blind clearly the water spills over the side, open u fucken eyes, and the trees are moving.

  • People just go to google and type in barbados earthquake!

  • I am steven Hawkins

  • We must asume the waterlevel is the same all around the pool when not in motion... therefor.. when the waterlevel drops several feet, it MUST go over the sides..

NOTE ALSO that the trees are not moveing.. a shake that big would make them swirl.

  • it's a tremor. barbados was not the only one that felt it

  • Watch the back right corner of the pool closely at 0:42 and you'll see water wet the cement.

  • ...And if you continue watching that corner through the remainder of the video you can see more water exiting the pool and moving across the cement.

  • if you look at the cement closest to you the viewer ...look to the right at about 1:12 you will see water pouring out... but then again... with computer animation you can do just about anything... and why isnt the camera shaking ?

  • this is all staged...i can see the midgets rocking the pool back and forth

  • A well captured, but common phenomenon in a minor quake/tremor. Fun to watch though!

  • fake wheres the water on the ground there shud be heaps

  • Not fake, this earthquake was just a tremor, there was only one building that sustained damage...and it fell into a gully.lol.

I live in Barbados and it happened of the 29th of November around 3.00 P.M.I was staying home from school(I don't remember why, think they were just doing foolishness) and in the upstairs part of our building in Wildey and the lights flickered and I felt the tremor...then I went outside smartly.

    And that's a below-ground pool...so there wouldn't really be heaps.

  • r u dumb, look at the water it goes straight to the brim everytime then the rocken gets faster,if was real watter be splashing out

  • Can't you read?I said I live in Barbados and thus, know that this tremor occured. Why would this person fake a video of the pool water rocking in an "earthquake" when the "earthquake" in question actually happened? Also, remember that water is clear...and the quality isn't that good,so you may not neccesarily see the water splashing out. :|

ALSO the pools edges have overlip into the pool, which would keep the water in,to an extent.

  • so it may occured, dont mean it not fake with the pool rocking

the camera dont move onceu fuckwit

  • But why arent u moving as well?

  • because its only the camera

  • So which means it's Fake?

  • okay we had a earthquake..................but when den got dem sort a tings u ain't ta be doin sain idk maybe findin a safe place making sure u family or sian alright....but no u gin stop dey and recorded a pool...................n if u ca do dat wid a small one lord kno wa u gine do wid a big one...........u gin stop dey in recorded ppl runnin bout

  • It came at around 3-4 pm on the 29th of november 2007.

I was opening my gate at my house when it started!

  • That was year 2007, it was tremors for an island close to us, i don't remember which island but it felt like the ground was swaying back and forth. That must be why that water reacted like that. It wasn't an earthquake, bajans thought that because we don't know what else to call it since we have never felt any like that before.

  • this looks fake because the water is moving and the buildings around it are staying still,i had jus gotin from school when it happend and it was strong enough to make water move like that

  • not really the buildings are apart of the ground and very still it follows water dosen't didnt u learn anything in school

  • excuse you.just because you know a little bit about earthquakes does mean u know everything!!and i learn alot in school!asshole!!!

  • There's always some idiots who call "fake" on everything. Probably people who sit around wasting life doing doing but playing videogames, and are clueless about the real world!

  • welli called it fake.but i dont play video games or waste life,i called it fake because i was there i had just got home from school and it took me a while to realize the earth was moving, and this pool is shaking like crazy, but it could be real because sertain parts of barbados felt it more

  • I remember that day.......guest were running out the swimming pools.....crazy

  • fake!

  • why you think it fake its not it dosnt even look fake at all!

  • it's veryyy veryyy hard to do that effect in computer!, trust me, it's real
