I wish they contnued linear like they were, im not interested in the shogun era. Im wondering as to what they can use next, I don't want them to go all the way to the civil war, but in between there would be great. Also, I was hoping it would contain more than one area, like empire total war did.

Shogun Total War is my all time favorite strategy game ever, close behind are AOE, C&C, Starcraft, Civilization, and of course Tropico ; )

Can't wait for this awesome remake of the original . . .game(dot)co(dot)uk will have a grand master special edition with a full high quality Shogun themed chess set . . .

This game really looks impressive. total war series are the best real time strategy games but honestly ever since I bought empire total war I havent been able to play the game more than 3 turns because there are always technical problems. The game crashes, freezes, glitches, starts flickering

I cant nevr play it Ive tried the game with intel i7 980x and 2 gtx 460, a 5970, a 4890 from ATI and its always the same

im still waiting hopefull for a patch thatll resolve my issue

@MOnsterPCable - My system is similar and I've had the same issues until I discovered the maximum memory fix. Try this:

1. Click on Start Button, type "msconfig" in the search/command bar at the bottom.

2. Click on the "Boot" tab

3. Click on "Advanced Settings"

4. Top right, place a check next to "Maximum Memory", mark down what Your default value is, then change it to max value of 5260 or 5120, assuming You got at least 6gb of triple-channel memory.

5. Reboot, play and enjoy : )

That perfectly works for the crash issue but not for the flickering. I fixed it though

I went back to Catalyst 10.5 instead of 10.11 or 11.1 that I used to have on the 5970 set up...

Game works perfectly now after months of struggle :)

Anyway, glad You're able to play it now, I've heard many complaints about ATI/AMD drivers especially the catalyst drivers.

Back in the AGP days I used OmegaDrivers for ATI/Nvidia cards, however I don't know if he has up to date drivers anymore . . .

How can you call yourself a gamer and not know about the Total War series?

Been waiting so long for this. Empire Total War was such a let down. Too much micro managing of towns and such. Maybe by revisiting the more simplistic Shogun, they'll rethink the game board to make the game more enjoyable again.

@Playstationgamer814 Nope. Look up the other Total War games. They've got a pretty awesome series. Its a turn based strategy game similar to Civilization, but when you go into combat you control your armies in individual battles on the actual battlefield. The series is amazing.
