The women that created the intro for Gimme Shelter and you hear today most prominently on Gimme Shelter is not Merry Clayton but my Dear Friend the Great Emmaretta Marks, note Merry Clayton didn't even try to Reproduce the iconic Intro..!
Merry Clayton, by every source and authority, provided the wailing VOCAL for Gimme Shelter. And I suspect Keith Richards wrote the intro guitar lick. Do you have any PROOF, other than your word, that Ms. Marks of "Hair" and Deep Purple song fame had anything at all to do with Gimme Shelter? If so, you've got the basis for a HUGE story my friend.
@TJTele You obviously need to have your microwave checked. Your Jiffy Pop sessions have been leaking. If I had to pick one name NOT associated with the incredible female backup on Gimme Shelter, it would have to be one "Emmaretta Marks." I think it's more likely to be attributed to Nicola Tesla, Enos Slaughter or Cyrus Vance Jr. Thanks for dropping by for the comic relief.
@MaximTendu .... I've only got it on vinyl, not sure whether it was ever comped or if it's available online anywhere. Might be worth googling it and seeing what pops up, failing that patience and an eye on ebay for a copy of it.

@TJTele "Emarette Marks created the intro?"

I think this version is superior to the original, Ive always found the lack of wind instruments in the original to be a detriment.
