Back in the day took Electronics training at Keesler. On break one day and 2 Harriers came in real slow. One stopped in mid-air near end of runway and landed. Other did go around and then landed vertical. Really cool stuff when your 18. Ahhh!! The memories.

I love when people think they know what they are talking about. F35 replace the A10???? Um, that's like buying a corvette to replace your dump truck. Apache replacement? Yea, The A10 is not replaced by a chopper. It was invented for the cold war to bust soviet tanks. Only in the recent time in the desert has it had a purpose. I can't tell why they called that plane ''F''-117. I dont know their reasons. But the informacion im giving is correct. My opinion is that maybe they called that plane ''F''-117 because hes size. Dont big enough to be called a Bomber? Maybe, the A-10 is it a air to ground Attack plane but that not make him a bomber. By the way the F-117 are not active enymore.

Actually it was F-117 because when they made them they HAD to have the BEST pilots flying them. And no self respecting fighter pilot would fly a Bomber...so it was designated the F-117 even though it's a bomber.. At least that's what Modern Marvels told me.

I think what your talking about is a ACMI pod. What it does is send out info to the controllers at Nellis. It tells them if he got a kill or not, and if he got killed, how many G's he's pulling, etc.
