  • wow these are so legit. they're perfect for improv practicing

  • I played B minor, E minor and F# minor scales to coincide with the chords being played. Is that OK? Sounds more interesting to me. Even major scales sounded good over the minor chords!

  • its blues. stop thinking so much. just get the key and play what you feel. blues come from the soul. there is no rules

  • im confused on what which notes i should bend that should good is it the root note or the fourth and fifth of the key?

  • bend to the note the progression is on.

  • Well bending a note is sometimes more by feel of the tune u r playing with but think of it like this this. If you are going to bend a note it should be a note in the scale which is also all the notes n the chords that are played. So if you think 2 ur self that you will us a half bend or a whole bend it is the same as a half step or a whole step movement from fret 2 fret. 4 and example I will use the key of Am Pentatonic. go to the first D note in that scale then go to the octave n bend it to E.

  • this is a blues in B - major !!

  • its actually in b minor pentatonic if you want to play a nice sole full solo over it ;)

  • ok...SRV tuned is guitar 1/2 down always... he plays this song which sounds like texas flood in G... but tuned down1/2 sounds like Fsharp on reg tuned guitar.

track could also be sky is crying...which SRVin C or B with reg tuned guitar

  • It's not F. It's F sharp as the video says. Use F sharp minor pentatonic, it works awesome.

  • thank you for the play back very good blues for the 12/8

  • sounds like b to me not no F-anyone now about relative minors?major?then it could make sense

  • its not f youre right. its b minor or a flat major

  • Comment removed

  • No, relative major is A.

  • what is this song called?

  • the sky is crying

  • If you think about the modes of music, using the f# minor is fine because it is the 5th mode which is Mixolydian and it is a perfect fit with the actual key which is b or Ionian mode!!! SRV loves mixing the 2 modes together Mixolydian mode is used a lot in all his leads!!! Have fun with this, play half of it in your b minor Pentatonic blues pattern then use the same pattern on the f# while mixing in the Mixolydian mode you will see how you can give it a different feel without changing to much!!!

  • shit man i wish i knew as much theory aws you

  • all it takes is a little reading and a whole lot and i mean a whole lot of patients!!!LOL!!!

  • i really dont think stevie....knew half as much theory as you...do.....he just played...his heart...out....and... thats all that mattered........

  • kevie3 is perfectly right.

  • wow definitely sounds like b minor and not f# minor.

  • the bedroom players dream, nice one

  • this track is in b(si)

  • it is technically in f sharp minor. however if you want to solo a blues scale over it use b ( b minor 7 )

  • Are you sure? Im pretty certain its B minor

  • Thanks for posting, Most people keep posting backing tracks w/o the key and I have to search and sometimes I can't find them. :/
