  • This is one of my favorite performances of this piece on You tube. You are amazing. This is how Bach should be performed with love and understanding and freshness. WOW

  • awesome

  • BRAVIZZIMO!!!!!

  • If had had one ounce of this kids talent, I wouldnt be digging holes for a living. Thank you for the performance, I have been studying this for guitar. DOnt ask me why, and it is challenging, but the close up view of your performance has helped me understand some of the harder sections. =), keep it up you have a great gift.

  • he's fxxin brilliant...

  • hey hey hey hey,for those of u talking about dynamic, contrast blahblahblah etc.. leave the kid alone. He obviously has a long way to go and doesnt need to be perfect @ anything right now(although his real close to it).

chill out and envy his talent :)

  • Bravo!! 5 Etoiles!

  • its good... now study glenn gould

  • agree.. put some dynamics into it, let the tune sing out in the appropriate hand.

You had just one bar with dynamics!

    It was clunky.

However, technically great, you hit the notes!

I used to play this.. the fingers fly

  • Wonderful job!! More kids these days need to be dedicated like this..

    sorry for awkward English. haha

This is definitely 5 stars from me.

  • WELL DONE! I hope you got A+++++ for your examination!

  • Why is this only 4 stars? A curse on those who rate this any lower than 5 stars! You are incredibly gifted, not just talented, gifted. If you can play this now... I wonder how amazing you will be in the future.

  • Here is your problem - Its a pianist trying to play a piece for Harpsichord.

Piano technique and Harpsichord technique are different. Way different

  • great job little boy~

  • Dennis,

thank you for your woderofull performance.

We enjoyed your music very much.

    5 stars!

  • Un muso del genere non puù suonare musica europea, Bach si sta rigirando nella tomba, poveretto, e non traduco neanche dalla rabbia!

  • I play the double manual harpsichord, this is one of my favourite pieces, and tommyupoo and

    dacrazyhyperboi are both right.

    WELL DONE, DENNIS!

  • littel freak^^

  • This is very good! Try to improve the dinamic contrast. really good portato!

  • how long you must practise, this is excelent !!!(I'm bad in Inglish grammatics sorry)

  • Looks folks in response to the dynamics that are missing from this i can say the following. The piece was probably written for a Harpsichord with 2 manuals (or keyboards). When played the top manual would sound quiet and the bottom would sound loud. The only dynamic markings in my score are Piano and Forte which tell me what manual to play it on, however on a piano its hard to get the effect has in some parts the left hand is playing piano and the right hand is playing forte.

  • In response to the problem people are having with dynamics. The only dynamics written in my Score, and I believe in most scores of this piece are Forte and Piano because It would have been probably played on a two manual harpsichord where by the top manual sounded quiet and the bottom one sounded loud. Without the two manuals it is very hard to play it well on a piano as there are times where the left hand is playing quiet and the right hand is playing loud

  • Lacked dynamic contrast

For the Baroque piece, ornamentations and DYNAMIC CONTRAST are two big things that can't be ignored. Since crescendos and decrescendos can't be done on a harpsicord, Bach had to often use huge dynamic contrast to make the piece sound interesting. And you also lack the difference between melody and harmony. It's a little too heavy and blurry. You should make it more gentle

But for your age, you did a Fantastic job.

  • I bet it will sound much better if the recording was done in a bigger room and, of course, played on a better piano. Excellent performance for your age.

  • jey wow!!

  • WOw

  • dynamics? This was meant for a harpsicord... aam is right, dynamics are supposed to be very narrow.

  • just because it was written for a harpsichord doesn't mean Bach would want people to play it with no dynamics now. They didn't have an option for dynamics back then. I'm sure if bach was alive today he would use dynamics.

  • Then thank God Bach isn't alive today. The option of dynamics was quite available in other instruments and he did use them. If it were not for the lack of dynamic expression in the harpsichord then this piece would not have sounded so wonderous--it is that very lack of dynamics that demands other, more intricate methods for expression as we find in Bach than merely hammering harder on the keys.

  • Great play young man. This was my exam piece many many years ago when I was about your age.Keep it up.Lots of hard work ahead but well worth the efforts.

  • dudes?

    dennis plays this heaps well..

none of u noe wot is baroque period... ==

a period of onli the contrapuntal and polyrythm all that matters..

in baroque period was harpsicord and clavichord

they dun give any big up and downs in the dynamics

its very good.. =P keep up the good work.. =P

  • improvement on tempo and dynamics would really improve it and I think that with a little tweaking you would sound like Gould.

A better instrument too would really really help.

    well done though!

    that's amazing!

  • *yawn*

    Where's the dynamics? Musicality?

  • You should be more gentle, he did a great job, if you don't like the song at least credit the artist.

So amazing, so fast! Maybe loosen up your arms a bit (it's a question because I really don't know if you're too tense or not)? You're very good!

  • Excellente interprétation, aucune erreur notable, une grande sureté du doigté... Voilà qui devrait encourager ce pianiste à poursuivre l'apprentissage de son art

  • That's what dedication to practice does!

  • Stude only the parts of littles mistakes, good perfomance, i undertand the polifonic parts, but y can listen again and pay attention in articulation and dinamics.

  • Almost Glenn Gould:P

  • Great! Good tempo and feel.

  • Well done, keep your back straight.

  • best piece of bach ever!

    very well!!

  • Bravo!

    5 stars :)

Check your tempo at the beginning, and at the end.

You should play this composition 10 time in slow tempo, then only 1 time fast. Otherwise, you'll spoil it.

    Good work.

  • Good job!
