I'm playing in a friendly OTB tournament at my local club tomorrow. It will be my first OTB "tournament" . . . preparing some lines in the English and Reti as white and the French and Benoni as black :).
Could you try using the ryder gambit in one of your blitz games please? I use it quite alot but I'm no where near as good as you so it would be good to see how well you use it :) thanks KC!
c3 is a very standard move on the main line which provides a re-routing option for the awkward a3 knight, its easy to see why 9...Be7 is the main line, this ...Bb7 sure was a weak move allowing too much structural damage :).

I don't know, but as soon as e.g. the queen goes to h5 on move 15, is it an idea to protect that attacking piece against potential exchanges?
I mean, if you are planning the Qh5 attack, should there also be the follow up with h4, preventing moves like Qg5 from black?

Did you not miss mate on move 16....?
Qf5 with Qh7 to follow?
petitnekka 5 months ago 2
@petitnekka No... Re8 and the king escapes - for hte moment anyway...

@petitnekka It's not a mate but it's still a good move and he should have played it.
He could have brought the knight later and ...Qg5 wouldn't have been a problem.
