Way cool! I had a '72 with a 10 point cage, 355 c.i., TH 350,and a 4.88 12 bolt rear- driven on the street. It had a "factory GM off-road only" insane mechanical cam, and would rev to 7500 RPM. I had quiet mufflers, and could drive it anywhere. What intake manifold are you using to keep it under the stock hood??

I built a 350 one in '83. Hit ice with it..sold it to a kid who screwed it up totally. Miss that thing. Had overdrive in it and got 27mpg. I just used 70 series tires but it was still so quick. If you put big tires on I've heard guys have popped the rear windows out off the start. You have to build up the body strength in the rear to support the torque.
