In the first verse, they say "I close my eyes so I don't have to see, I shut my heart and tell my mind to run and flee", criticizing the way people prefer not to take responsibility towards the moral and ethic decline of society. When they say, "As long as I fall, I don't hit the ground.... I'm safe and sound", it sounds to me like "As long as I'm not the one affected, I'm fine with it"... I think.
