Some say Fredrica is an older Rika, but its never actually been stated that she's related to Rika in anyway.

So, for all we know, she could be just a relative.

It has been stated that she is Rika. Read the Saikoroshi-hen novel (They don't mention it in the anime though) and there she says she exists in a higher dimension.

Anyway, if you want to believe she isnt, so be it but i think there is no need to refuse that because it really doesn't matter too much in the story.

Fredrica Bernkastle is a Rika based character. She has the same voice as in Higurashi, which isn't hard to notice.

Though she has a different attitude she is still, pretty much, the same character wise, as in, Same looks, same voice

Only difference, she's a Witch and plays an entirely different role

(And plus she doesn't die constantly) Sorry to affiliate myself in this, however I believe I should have gave my shot at, pretty much, sorting out what's different and the same. :)

Well. We don't know if she's Frederica or not yet. Until it's revealed people can make up theories all they want. Because none of them is necessarily true. Maybe in the end Bern pulls off a mask and it's revealed that she is actually... A troll. You never know with Trollkastel.

The best way to put all over this is that umineko and Higurashi exist in the same universe, however, do not directly/hugely influence the other in the same way you and I live inthe same universe, on the same planet but have never met (I asume)
