Any body own a 2007 single coil daphne blue highway one strat and only a 2007 daphne blue highway one strat the fender collectors are looking for this strat. There rare because daphne blue was used less than 1 year on the upgraded version highway ones.
the S-1 switch and rolled frets are all new shit fender is doing with the strats and to most of us who play strats its all useless SHIT!. the 2007 highway one strat is one of the most sought after strats today for the simple reasons better tone versatility better sustain and old school strat feel. jimi hendrix would have loved/owned and played the highway one sss strats no doubt!
i totally agree, i actually wish they didnt have the greasebucket tone control on the highway ones, i would rather have it control the tone for the middle pickup as every other strat and just have to tone on the bridge pickup wide open
Really man 2007-2009 Highway Ones are same feel/tone. There's no such rumor about the 2007 series. All i could find was you spreding the word about the 2007 series. Nothing more. Got a Dec/2009 Sunbust/Mapple SSS. When I opened the backplate for tremolo ajusting was written with atomic pencil behind the springs "AmerSpec". Sweet hugh? All the series got its particularity, but not because you claim to have tree 2007's you can create this fantasy that they're the best in the world. Keep on Rockin!
Between this and the Mexican standard what should i get? I'm looking for a Dave Gilmour sort of sound. If someone has nothing better to do, maybe you could help me out. Thanks.
Highway one is definitely superior in many ways than MIM Strat. I have a US Vintage Hot Rod '57 Stratocaster (retail 2199.99) as well as a less expensive hot rod (retail 699.99). Despite the obvious price and quality difference I use the Highway One more frequently. Mostly because I don't mind getting road wear on it as well as if it gets broken or stolen I will cry less. The fact is that it sounds good enough to double for a $2k strat. Not bad for 700 bucks. DON'T GET MIM!
the highway one sss strat list for $1,130 (no case)and cost you $900 to $930 up until fender did there price drops some months ago. the highway one sss strat is the same quality woods as the new american standards. the alnico III pick ups the high way one sss have along with the grease bucket circuit and the reversed wound middle pick up was designed by the fender custom shop.
the highway one is based on the old school style strats and not the bullshit they put on the today. S1 and rolled frets
Sadly I have to disagree. I've got an AVRI 62 Reissue strat and the difference from a 03 MIM strat is not that big. First of all it doesn't resonate any better than the MIM, and it actually has a poly undercoat underneath the nitro. The pickups sound nicer and rounder on the 62 RI, BUT the MIM stock ceramic pickups are just as underwound as the 57/62s, not a bit hotter.
MIMs are great out of the box. HW1 pickups sound terrible for some reason.
hey man im confused, have two options a fender highway 1 stratocaster like you are playing and a Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Strat? for a clasic rock like acdc or gnr
you should look into the "Deluxe Lonestar" Strat, it has Texas Special pickups and a Seymour Duncan "pearly Gates plus" humbucker in the bridge that freakin' screams. Best part is you can often find one for not much more than a standard mexi- strat.
There's one strat which is designed for high-gain use. It's a hardtail Highway One Billy Corgan Signature model (very different pickups) than on nromal H1 strats.
I would really like to know his opinion of this guitar. You tend to give pretty level headed and balanced opinions. My question is about the pickups. Some say they are good others say they are terrible (too modern of a sound). I really dig the classic rock and the blues in a SRV kind of way. Can you get this sound out of these pickups? Just thought I would ask since some of your vids you sa you love single coils, so I thought you would have a good point of view.
I think you can. Going through the twin, you could hear nice glassy articulate tones. Couple that with a tubescreamer and I believe you have pretty sweet SRV tones. The pups are probably a touch hotter than he used, but that lends itself to the versatility of this guitar.
I have a 2007 Highway one strat. The specs on the pickups say it is staggared alnico 3, but mine has is non staggered poles. They are all even. Did fender install different types of alnico 3 pickups for the highway ones?
relly nice sound this guitar has a classic tones variation´s im gonna buy one i was gonna buy one 60´s greg fessler but it doesn´t sound right to me in clean tones it does with green screamer but the highway 1 sound´s great w blues too.
way off on the price increase. as of march 1st the highway one will list for $1,130 you will pay $974.98. this musicians friend and american musical supply prices they will be pretty much the same every weres and well worth it!
i have a big problem , i bought a fender stratocaster highway one and i have real problems with tuning ! i cant do bends or use the whammy bar ! is every highway one like this?
You shouldn't have trouble with tuning, bends or the whammy. Did you buy it used? If so, the previous owner may have added a spring to the trem bar which would make it harder to bend or whammy but shouldn't affect the tuning.
Yeah the new American Standard has alinco 5 staggered pu's'and sound beautifull' a huge improvement from last year. But the Hw1
has the alinco3 pu's and it is more versitile. It can distort to metal levels. . with some boost from pedals or FX boxes. The alinco 3 is Fenders most underated/overlooked pu and kills just about anything else Fender has except the CS 69's.
Just picked one up used for $499. I compared it with a new American Standard for like 2 hours and overall the Highway just cooked. The necks on the new standards just seem too thin to me. I just can't put the Highway down! Doesn't hurt that it saved me 500 bucks either.
the highway one blows away the new american standards. tone versatility/sustain/feel the highway one kicks the shit out of the new american standards.
new american standard sounds better than the highway one? NOT EVEN CLOSE! i have a few 2007 highway ones and a 2008 american standard and my highway ones walks all over the american std. the highway one has better tone versatility/feel/sustain end of story.

@stratdem the 2007 highway one strats are lighter in
weight. my 2007 highway one sss strats are crafted
out of a 2 piece Alder body. if you look on other sights you
will see the 2007 highway one sss models are highly sought
after. and the 2007 highway one sss strat Daphne blue has sold
for $1,200 and more. the Daphne blue highway one strat was
discontinued back in january 2008.

fabbob1234 2 years ago
If you want to play metal, you're going to minimally want a humbucker in the bridge.
frets99 2 years ago
Just bought one, love it. Bought an SSS rosewood fretboard and 3 color sunburst, put a black pickguard on it and it looks and sounds awesome.

i know but i heard that the humbucker is shitty. Is it actually?
