Hitchcock is my God but I always struggle to rank his films, because I love so many of them greatly. Although if I were to rank his top five films it might be something like: 1. Rear Window, 2. Vertigo, 3. North by Northwest, 4. Psycho, 5. The 39 Steps... it's terribly hard... he made so many incredibly good movies... My personal favorites would be something like 1. Rear Window, 2. North by Northwest, 3. The Birds, 4. blah I give up... its always impossible!!!
this one of my favourites, the first time I saw it i didn't like it the second i thought it was brilliant third time I think in my top ten films of all time. its brillinant in every respect its so powerfull ithink my favourite of hitch's are this,rebecca, marnie,rope, rear window.

I'm sorry but you say the same thing you said about The Birds.
"Very famous, great special effects for its time"
There is a lot going on in this movie, saying you own it on dvd and that its worth buying is a bit of an understatement...
