So what he is wanted for is not trial for rape but being a fugitive from justice. The trail is over and he was found guilty of drugging and raping a child, the victim now has nothing to do with the matter. I do not think there is any limitation for the time they will go after an escaped convict.

@WillShakespeare2007 he was found guilty but never served any time. he did not go back for sentencing, he heard that the judge was going to be hard on him so he fled. he went to chino for a 90 day diagnostic study for which he done 42 days. however this was not a form of punishment and cant be used for punishment.

He must do some time. He showed complete contempt for the system & must pay a price. Punishment is the second order of business when imprisoning people. The primary reason is to deter potential subsequent offenders. He's an escaped convict - simple fact. People speak as if he's a defendant awaiting trial. HE IS NOT ! Trial's done ! The case was fucked up by the judge who reneged on the Plea deal 30 years ago.many of tha charges were dropped,and polanski was to receive "Time served" for his county Jail stint and his court ordered psycho observation. Coincidentially a friend of Polanski actually overheard at a country club shower,the judge in the case saying he was gonna "Nail" Polanski to very close to a life sentence..Polanski Fled and rightly so.
