Sir please email at jayson2790@yahoo.com Yur secret to becoming this flexible I've been trying 5 months now and still can get the split..... I would very much appreciate it
please if you make me ,if you say to my a program that wil help me to make splits or some flexibility ,my sensey doesn't know what to do animore with me .I wasn't a bodybuilder but i liked to play with the heights.,i will be ,man you will be my god :))
if you have a little time for spare please say ,and i will sent you photos with my actual flexibility and stuf .
@dancingking1250 Because in UFC the kicker is more concerned to fall down and the opponent getting on top of him. When you kick you compromise your balance. In K-1/ Muay-Thai/Karate/TKD, falling to the ground is no big worry, because the opponent only gets few points but is not allowed to get on top of you.
Thank you to all those who have left comments, it is very much appreciated and makes all the hard work worth it.
I get alot of personal messages asking for advise on stretching and how to get into the splits so I hope the information i've sent has been of good use.
I agree with ColonialIM: I have done these kicks in a demo: board breaking, etc. I know this kick, properly timed, would have knock out power. Kickboxeruk is an inspiring martial artist: I am having my Kenpo class watch this amazing martial artist: incredible! Keep up the good work! I am kickboxer1905.
Thank you for your comments, these videos were shot a few years back now but by all means use them in your kempo class. I would very much like to know how it goes so keep me informed. Kickboxeruk2008
@googler69er They are effective, the power generated from these kicks is massive. If you can do it quickly without telegraphing what you are about to do. Someone would be silly to get back up after it hits them on the chin. (If they even have that option).
They are showboating kicks but just because they look good does not mean they won't hurt like hell. :). To the poster keep it up mate, you are damn good.
Unlike Van Damme, you display a lot of BOTH legs. I'm pretty sure Van Damme can use his left leg too, he's done it a few times but more as a set up to his dominant right leg.
really cool i love my high kicks the action is great do some more get the other guy to wear a headguard lol then you can go more at it i do all the time in training.
@Hunkola wow ..what make you say its special effects ...do you see some aliens in the vid ?? ..oh oh ..how about laser beams ? ...man this is hard training ..you will never execute those splits if your only training is commenting sh.it on youtube ...
You are wrong buddy..he is for real. He reminds my my younger age when i also was crazy about Van Dammes kicking style. But now i have lose the world i was in that time.
Even if you are flexible, you still always have to develop the speed for the kick. For example; with a jumping front kick you have to be fast enough to deliver the kick at the right point in time and on target or else you will already be back on the ground before you have your foot out for the strike. Then you add coordination and timing, because speed with no coordination and timing can be a disaster.Your list of moves that you 'can do in your sleep' must be extensive. So do lots of repetition
Thank's for the advice i'll try that out , i didnt know what was wrong because i'd be trying to do it it seemed like i cannot get off the ground high enough to do anything , so your advice is just practice practice practice right? till i get hang of it and sooner or later it will come in time.
Very nice dude i just got my Black belt in Shotokan, not to sound like a Jedi but " most impressive; Learning a split is some hard work, but i hope to move and kick as high as you...
Thank you for your comments, the style I studied was a form of shotokan karate which was called sentenashi. However most of the techniques you've seen were all self taught before I even started a club.
