the poster should understand that if you DONT want to be criticized for your response or tactics, DON'T POST ON YOU TUBE and dont respond to everything posted. everyone forgets that they are looking at a one sided view of conditions,2nd-every department is different on how they fight fire. i have my own observations based on my expierence but unless i saw something boneheaded, I'M KEEPIN IT TO MYSELF because I AINT THERE(neither were the critics).3rd, i did like disp. withthe weather conditions
An other thing it does take while to get to some calls, my district a lot bigger than rose hill, some times it takes us 20 minutes to get to some places in our district
@Solidcitizen123, Dude I am volunteer for one of the Butler County Fire Districts, just to let you know Rose Hill is one of the best trained in our county. Learn your facts
@solidcitizen123 Let's see YOUR video showing how damn good you are at ANYTHING! I'll be more than happy to pick it apart by Monday Morning Quarterbacking...and call you loser to boot. We'll find out if you can take like you can dish! Waiting...
Great video! Good response and safe! After reading some of these comments, what these guys need to understand is that this is in rural kansas! Just because there are 6 or 7 trucks on scene, doesn't mean your gonna have a full co. on them! You'll be lucky to have 2 on a truck! You have to make due with the resources you have on scene. You guys put a damn good stop to this fire! I tip my hat off to you! The midwest is very different in tactics and strategies than the east coast and west coast are.
@ResONEcue, any other rural place I have lived has also had a 100% volunteer district and it did not act as unProfessional and lackluster as this and counl respond inthin in a matter of minutes no matter what the time of day. Being in rural Kansas is just ANOTHER poor excuse for untrained personel.
What I wanna know is why do I not see more use of ground ladders set up against the house to gain access to the roof area.. I saw at least 2 different places on the back wall, and one on the side where that porch is, where a ladder could be in place, and holes could be cut in the wall to allow fire attack directly from the roof or right into the attic area.. could've had that knocked down in half the time as far an I'm concerned.. but Im not a White Helmet, so what do I know..
Where's the 2nd line and the RIT team...? looks like more than enough units to have that in place, didn't see a second entry on the back side, guessing this was rural and they were setting up water shuttles and drafting operations. Good catch either way, and good idea to go defensive. There's some crazy videos from Detroit with their truck companies and venting.. I'll leave it to that..
Chill out, dude, I wasn't filming. My firefighter wife riding in the passenger seat was the one doing the filming. In the U. S. we drive on the right side of the road and the steering wheel is on the left side of the vehicle. If you couldn't tell, the filming was coming from the right hand side.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE TRYING TO FILM AND DRIVE AT THE SAME TIME, PUT THE CAMERA DOWN!! I don't care if you are a Volly, act professional, it reflects on all of us.
@208mls I'm not sure about in Kansas, but i do know in Pennsylvania, an emergency veichle is required to have both lights and siren running while in transport to a call...
@208mls it all depends on where you live and what the laws are in that state, also think about time or day, on a sunday at around 11 AM you really dont need one but on friday aroung 5 or 6 at night you not only need one you need alot more, lol so yeah...
whoever was in commmand should have not sent an attack team in the first place due to the fire conditions, should have knocked it down from the outside first, but good call i guess
Its so cool to hear myself dispatch! Sweet vid.

Sure glad I'm only 200 yards from this Fire Station in R/H.

@wwaynemcg , did it take more than 30 minutes to get that 200 yards. If it did that would be a great time for the losers at Butler county Dist. 3.

Not a personal vehicle. A fire department command vehicle.

In Kansas, by law, to be considered an emergency vehicle, you must operate both visual and audible warning devices. No exceptioms for fire vehicles.
