At the core of it, I believe Video Games are rewarding not just because of the challenges, but how well it mimics our visions of surreality, or more specifically, Lucid Dreams. We like lucid dreams because it gives a chance to do whatever we want without consequences for a short period of time during our unconsciousness. Video Games are a pretty good imitator when it comes to not only freeing the mind, but giving us a sense of false confidence and fearlessness not expressed in reality.

1. Plenty of nerds, myself included, do not play and have no interest in playing video games.

2. Some things in life are completeable missions. For example, my parents recently paid off their home and school loans. Sure there will always be bills, but those are some pretty significant markers to get the big red COMPLETE stamp.

When I was younger and more of a video game nerd, I played video games for the community of it. Whether that be EverQuest or World of Warcraft for the online community or games like Star Craft at LAN parties with my friends. Now I tend to play games like Fallout and Bioshock. I recently realized that I play these games for the same reason I read books and watch TV/Movies. I have moved towards story driven games that I play through to be told a good story I can interact with.

Huh. Honestly, I play videogames for the same reasons I read or watch movies, or well, even watch people. Learning the character persona of each individual person, learning their story. Be it separate stories per-character as well as the main story itself. I like looking at the creativity of the games, the styles, imagination put into them. And I love when I get to make my own character(s) to fit the role(s) because it is like I am making a character that is meant to be apart of that story. <3

I actually really liked the Glee episode. I thought that they did the songs well, (totally agree on the Rachel/Mr. Shue thing...awkward). I like that they didn't try to completely remake it, but the episode focused on the rehearsing in preparation for the show. I really like how they did Touch-a Touch Me too. Overall it was fine. (totally did not RUIN the movie like many people have said it did, those people overreacted).
