HI there ! just another Rowley fan here from spain.
I wish you could help me. Im looking for a Rowley clip where he gets interrupted by what another iiww vet who asks him to lower his voice, Rowleys response is "bugger off" without even looking at the guy. I've trying to finf it everywhere! can anybody lend me a hand? thanks! (I believed it belonged to the fast show xmas special of 1997, buy then again i cant find it) My infinite thanks to whoever knows the clip and can send me a link!
Can anyone help me? I'm looking for a Fast Show sketch with a character that I believe only appeared once. He was played by Paul Whitehouse, and was basically a middle-aged man in a shop, buying something, who kept asking the staff to confirm what he was doing e.g. "I go in there, do I?", "I give you that, do I?", "I walk out that door, do I?". Anyway, it was hilarious, and if anyone knows more about it, please let me know.
In the best Rowley Birkin QC I ever saw, he was muttering something about "a small Indian boy" and it seemed to have a sexual tone to his muttering and mannerisms...I remember falling off my chair laughing. Wish I could find it.
this man is just so talented......why he bothers lowering himself to do Aviva car insurance ads is beyond me - possibly he was vey vey drunk at the time?
lol, this is hilarious, but can anyone understand what he's saying? Something about fireworks, a girl getting hurt, him cracking his head open while he was vey, vey drunk. Did anyone catch the rest?
@zeekyblahIV your not supposed to understand what he is saying. Its sort of fill in the blanks. Its taking the piss out of how the upper classes speak

I think he's whacking at the class system there. Something Python would be hypocrytical to do. That's why he's the king of British comedy! No student union there! Made it on his own. Enfield had to bow!
Yes, because if you are not from the working classes you are automatically a hypocrite if you make fun of the class system. Well done you for such an infallible argument. Although you might try typing in "Four Yorkshiremen" into youtube and then proclaiming that one of the most immitated sketches of all time was done by a bunch of hypocrites to really put the cherry on your intellectual cake.

You should keep your opinions to yourself, and not call names to people who may like something other than the things you like. Do you want to be seen as arrogant? You don't choose what to like and what not to like, unless you are trying to copy someone else, which is sad.
Don't tread in others footsteps or you'll leave none of your own.
The best character from the best and cleverest British comedy show ever seen. Fantastic and very much missed. Doing Rowley is one of my party pieces. (Not a patch on Paul, though!)

This is an absolutely true, replica of an old geezer Paul Whitehouse actually met in a hotel. Look up the story. Theres a youtubevideo of him disscussing it.
they are a very good comedy group but lets not forget who isnpired them to make it possible and that monty python, they used many of their sketches as templates, for example the 'suit you sir' sketch is a lot like the 'nudge nudge' sketch in monty python.
i implore everyone to try and see the one where he talks about the love he lost during the war...it is so poignant..it turns a funny character into a legend

actually, python consistently bashed the class system, hence pontius pilate, king arthur, the upper class twits of the year...
and whitehouse himself has described the fast show as "the pythons of the mtv generation". without python, the fast show would never have been born.
