  • I was thinking about buying this rifle, but I am left handed, do you think I will have any trouble with the rifle?

  • @TheAwesome1299 It takes some getting used to. I have two lefty friends who've shot mine and one had no trouble and the other didn't like it, so it really depends on personal preference.

  • Man, I'm like 99% sold on the SRS, but the bullet price... jeez

  • @CHUCKYCHUCKYBOBUCY Just get a .300WM conversion instead of the .338. It's much cheaper to shoot and still good to 1400+ yards.

  • whats the retail price for this rifle? its pretty expensive in australia , id buy it for my mate for hunting

  • @Jak3HxC I don't know if it's ideal for hunting - it's kind of a hefty rifle. However, while expensive, it can actually save you money down the road as you can buy one rifle with several conversions and just one good quality scope. It's definitely versatile that way.

  • how much is an srs in .338 lm?? great video and shooting btw!! ive been looking into getting a savage .338 long range hunter but I love the design of the srs

  • @MrgunNut101 I got mine when they first came out, before the price jump. Now, a complete .338 SRS is about $USD 5000. Still cheaper than the MRAD and with several conversion kits widely available.

  • nice shot, iam debating on this model or the ba110, any opinions? i know savage is famous for precision but i like the multi cal option of the srs.. then again why bother with anything smaller than 338.your opinion would be appreciated, thanks and happy hunting.

  • @MrDaajman The SRS will outshoot a Savage any day of the week, however the 110 is significantly cheaper, so it depends on your budget. If you're new to ELR shooting then I suggest you start with a .300WM as it's far more economical to shoot and is still good to 1400 yards or so.

  • Something else to consider is that while the rifles themselves cost around $6,000 as a start, most of the long range scopes are near or over $2,000.

  • holy fuck, dude that scope is enourmus. Instead of buying a scope of that size, why don´t you buy a regular size scope and buy a x4 zoom

  • Theres this one forum for longrange hunters/shooters. You should join it snipershide(.)com

  • would you prefer the Barrett MRAD or the SRS for overall performance?

  • @ihavacave Both are good rifles and while Barrett has a popular brand name, their rifles tend to not be that accurate. The MRAD is definitely an exception. Since they cost the same, the main difference is the bullpup configuration on the SRS making it a much more compact rifle.

  • my favorite sniper rifle

  • It went, "Dong" and 'Ding"....Dingdong.

  • sick

  • Wat they didn't show is a steel plate the size of a pickup lol jk. Hella good shooting. I want a 338 something fierce.

  • @climber1278 It's actually a 10x17" LV Steel target - about the size of a laptop.

  • @mysyn he was joking...

  • I favor the .338 over the .50 mostly because its softer on recoil and cheaper

  • That is excellent shooting! The Canadian armed forces use the .338 lapua magnum as their sniper round of choice. I have heard some excellent reports by the soldiers that use this round.

How do you like it when compared to the .50BMG ?

  • @ETeacherK .338 is universally preferred for shooting at infantry targets. But the .50 is more practical as an Anti-Material round. So for precision shooting infantry targets, the .338 is the better choice for most reasons but it can't penetrate some of the thicker surfaces that the .50 can. I personally would take the .338 over the .50 or .408. Furthermore, .338 ammunition is significantly easier to acquire, both materially and financially.

  • @ccondor97 - A dealer that sells both 50bmg AND 338 lapua LAP (light armor penetrator) rounds - says the 338 (of this specific type of bullet) will penetrate deeper than the 50. Go figure.

  • That is excellent shooting! The Canadian armed forces use the .338 lapua magnum as their sniper round of choice. I have heard some excellent reports by the soldiers that use this round.

  • Saw this on the military channel. Where the hell can I buy one online? Anyone? Sos? Help? How much do one of the run for 5000$ right? Wild guess

  • @CarFinatic1 - Go to the Desert Tactical Arms website

  • @CarFinatic1 The weapon platform is over $3000 plus you spend another chunk for a set of barrels and another chunk for the scope. After it's all over, it hovers around $6000 depending on the scope

  • @ccondor97 but cheaper if you go to them and buy one before christmas

12% discount for an srs or an srs covert chassis and one convention kit

  • The sound is awesome.

  • Awesome rifle!

  • well it'll be nice if you made a video of shooting the trg-22, it is a sick ass gun if you want sub-MOA.

  • @TheUnshatterd its good, but its a .308. good luck making a kill with it at that range. the dta is the coolest rifle for the $ available, imo. a friend of a friend just got one, n let me put a couple downrange with it a few weeks ago. he was using the .308 set-up, n it shot really well. trade ya, your rifle 4 my wife. she cooks well. : )~ anyhow, good shooting! hell, i'd just love to have your scope...

  • Nice shooting, great video thanks!

  • Hey man, nice shooting. I just got a Savage BA110 338 Lapua and am wondering about scope magnification. I was thinking about the NF 5.5-22 but am wondering if it's enough power for the 1760 yard target shots I want to master. What do you think ?

  • @AKEVELFAN 22x is fine. In fact, I often make ELR shots with lower magnification if no one is available to spot for me. The wider FOV from lower magnification makes it easier to get back on target and spot the splash. FWIW, I made shots at 2300 yards with my .408 running a 6-24x, so the magnification isn't that big of a deal.

  • @mysyn

    Cool, Thanks man.

  • The only thing more useless than a deaf spotter is a blind spotter.

    tac

  • Bing!

  • those plinks sound beautiful

  • i heard it to

  • Nice. Good shooting.

  • sick ass gun but I'de take the Barrett MRAD though...

  • At least you didn't say the M82/M107 - that's not a precision rifle. The MRAD is nice, but if you handle an SRS I think you'll agree it's more ergonomic and well balanced.

  • @mysyn oh no doubt i love the SRS and HTI both are excellent choices.. I would also like the Cheytac 200 .408 but the money is crazy. I only need one Long range. get one and love it.

  • @liljeter2018 is the hti already out then ?

  • @13thmistral The HTI is out.. It is available for purchase. I would love to have the HTI in .408 cheytac. More effective and flatter shooting than bmg .50 :)

  • @liljeter2018 its out ?

    its out ?

    comerial out ?

the existance of a extremely short conventional accurate extreme long range verry releable bulpup sniper rifle is a fact ?

    awsome

  • @13thmistral yes sir. This is #1 on the wish list. :)

  • @13thmistral I Keep going back and forth between barrett mrad and SRS. the advantage is the shorter length and the ability to change calibers with the same optics.

  • So how much are the swap over kits roughly. I'm gonna be trading or selling My AR30 .300 WinMag & my Nat Match M1A for a DTA SRS in .300 WM & I want a .338 lap. Swap....

  • Really nice rifle,, and shooting all so..

  • Should make light work of that range with a skilled sniper seeing as a gun firing these round was used to make the longest sniper kill of all time, was a British sniper and he hit two guys at a range of 2,707 yd pretty crazy.

  • Well done. Excellent Rifle and ability in unison :-)

  • It shoots 1/2MOA for the most part. I've gotten my own loads down a tad better and some factory loads haven't shot as well, but still under 1MOA. The Lapua 300 factory loads grouped 2MOA at 100 yards but 1/2MOA at 600 & 1200 yards - weird, eh?

  • @mysyn you'll find that's because the projectile hasn't stabilised untill further down-range

  • @mysyn - the 6.5 calibers are the same way in some rifle and load combo's (takes a couple hundred yards to stablize fully, or it's over stablized and flies a bit better once the spin slows down a bit) the 6.5x47 Lapua I built shoots 0.024 MOA with factory ammo, but I have yet been able to stretch it's legs for distance, and if I did the 338 Lapua has a much longer range than the 6.5 Lapua

  • @mysyn Not weird, it just means you kick ass above 600yards, but suck at 100 :o)

  • @mysyn The Lapua rounds have probably not fully stabilised at the shorter range giving you the MOA variance at 100yards.

  • What MOA are you getting?

  • AR500 steel from LVSteel Targets

  • Great shootin mate, who cares what it cost,it owns.

  • Awesome shot, man! I'm wanting to get one of these this Fall.

  • in the long range rifle world 5 grand is pretty cheap i see a lot of setups go for upwards of 15000. its not a poor mans sport if you want to hit anything past 1000 meters you better be ready to pay.

  • @bhbuckwheat

Dont know where your shopping but thats pretty high dollar equipment your seeing. What are the setups?

  • @lowdose338 i mean look at the Barrett MRAD or Bravo 98 or the Mcmillan Tac 338 or the Accuracy International they all cost over 5 grand just for the gun so your best bet would be to go with the savage 110 ba wich is only a little over too grand so after you put a good scope on and other accessories you would be right at 5 grand

  • dta srs= death to america says robert senarta

  • Nice shooting and high comedy to boot!!! :) :)

  • nice shooting brando commando! Ding!...dinner's ready.

  • Sweet shooting! :)

  • Yeah, nice but you could buy a .308, a .300 WM and a .338 LM and a .50 BMG for the price of this rifle. It is a really nice rifle, but the price tag is way off.

  • @zardinuk That's only true if you buy the cheapest rifles and wouldn't even cover glass. In this case yes, I have a top quality rifle and scope combo, but adding new calibers doesn't require spending another $2-3k for new scopes. Yes, its an expensive rifle but you get what you pay for it. I don't suggest it for single calibers but having a mutli-cal platform is nice and in this case I sold me trust Robar SR90, which paid not only for the caliber conversion but then some.

  • @mysyn well, when you're talking bolt action rifles, cheapest doesn't really mean much. I don't even care for the box mag with bolt action. I'd go for an armalite ar50, armalite ar30 (lapua), take your pick at any of the nice .308, maybe a semi-auto, same with the 300 WM. They aren't "cheap" like crappy cheap, they're good value cheap. I did get to play with one at a gun store once, it was very nice, if they sold it for $2,500 they'd sell a lot more of them.

  • @mysyn Gotta love the sound of hitting the gong. Are you shooting at hardened steel?

  • I second the question the gentlemen has below me with is this gun worth the price of admission?

  • The price has gone way up, indeed, no arguing that. It was a no brainer when I got mine in 2008 but nowadays it might put more on the fence.

  • Would you say that the SRS is worth the 4.5 grand price tag?

  • dong !

  • DING

  • man i love that gun, to bad i dont have $6,200.00 :(

  • @RacersMoment i agree

  • love that sound fellas, nice shhoting!

  • Bing!! Love it, thanks for posting.

  • Damn fine shooting.

  • Gotta love .338 LM.

  • What kind of shirt is that?

  • Emdom

  • @mysyn Thanks brah
