Good points, but to be honest, the one that irks me the most is the misconception that a "Properly-made" Katana never needs to be sharpened, never dulls and remains perfectly sharp after slicing through flesh. Where in reality, a Katana can lose its sharpness after seven cuts if used improperly.
But to be honest, I generally avoid the Katana completely, too many stereotypes with the general media over that. I own a few Tachi's at home though and prefer their angled design much more.
@luigimanofdanger I doubt it. It would break through a katana for sure. I suppose if you get right down to it though, breaking and cutting are the same thing as cutting is just breaking with very little structural damage to the surrounding areas.
