This is just a travesty. There is no justice in this country anymore. The jury finds him not guilty and DOJ won't let him out. Who are we and what have we become?
"If tyranny and oppression come to this land it will be in the guise of a foreign enemy."
Our founding fathers all new this, i hate blind patriotism. You ask americans why they love their country and the answers they utter are pathetic. Americans must return to their roots, look for wisdom and political guidance in our first true patriots.
URGENT: DR. AL-ARIAN HAS BEEN PUT IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT W/O MEDICAL SUPERVISION, DESPITE 6 WEEKS OF HUNGER STRIKE. Dr. Al-Arian's health is in a very precarious situtation; please call the prison and ask them to remove him from solitary confinement and to provide him with proper medical care: (410) 313-5200.
i am in Law 12.. i am in high school and i see that this is illegal.. you cannot hold someone after they have had a trial and are declared not guilty!!
This brings shame to the justice system that we are supposed to trust.
It is so important that Americans and others around the world see the facts that aren't seen on mainstream media here. We must turn around the degradation of this society's move away from law and social justice. This is a story of a travesty of justice.
Sami Al Arian is the 21st century Alfred Dreyfus with the exact Anti-Semitic overtones. Or have people forgotten that Palestinians are Semites? Where is our Emile Zola. J'accuse every government official and Zionist collaborator. Shame on all of you
Just when you think it can't get any more depressing to be alive in America...My heart is just breaking into bits over the way we are treating each other. God Help Save Us From Ourselves!
The crimes of the GWB administration demand war crimes trials for all of the criminals involved in the horrible crimes committed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Guantanamo
Send Bush, Cheney, Perle, Wolfie, Kindasleezy, David Frumhell et al to jail for twice as long as Sami. Abu Ghraib or Gitmo will do. Impeach, Imprison, Impale, Immolate, pick two. Seems fair.
This travesty of justice has gone on long enough! It is time to call on our elected leaders to free Dr. Sami and to uphold the ideals on which this country was founded which, last time I checked, did not include holding innocent people in prison indefinitely.
The leaders of this country--through fear mongering and blatant deciet--convinced us to become such cowards that we willingly enacted legislation diminishing our inaleinable rights. Even more absurd, our leaders then fabricated a war in which we would "spread freedom and democracy."
After all that Osama did to this country on 9/11, it was US that GAVE him what he could never have taken by force.
"How many dead Americans is Saddam worth?"--Dick Cheney (arguing against war with Iraq in 1994).
I have long been appalled at the injustice that has been dealt Dr. Al-Arian, a respected educator and civic leader in our community. In 2005 a jury failed to convict him of a single crime; in 2006 a federal prosecutor recommended that Sami be released immediately; in 2008 a federal judge declared the government's handling of Sami's case "a mess." Unless we speak out against such injustice, any one of us could be enveloped by a nightmare as Kafkaesque as that endured by Sami and his family.
in my opininon the whole bush administration should be tried at the international court...

The US govt. wasted $50 million on evidence gathering/prosecution expenses FOR THIS ONE MAN?
How many poor ppl could have been fed for that? Or given clothing? Housing? Medical attention?
May God have mercy on those who have done this - and upon the spiritually blind who support such an abomination of justice.
