  • i have one with 256,000 miles

  • @1fordhater Were you able to take advantage of GM's TB for the timing belt if you have a 2004 or 2005 model?

  • @fuckusername2000 22mpg ???? O_o

  • @fuckusername2000 Actually it was designed by Italdesign and got a 5 star rating for front a side collision.

  • the aveo wins in fuel economy? this guys on crack or what? only the kia was worst than that.

  • @fenix144 oh and its the first review i see that says to pick it up over the competion. I bet they fired this guy after all this nonsense.

  • @fuckusername2000 they would be great over there lol

  • 3 yr 36,000 mile warranty? even chevy knew it was shit.

I call this car the Daewoo Aveo, the little car that couldn't

  • I have this car, it's CRAP! It's in the shop right now for a broken timing belt, which busted at least 6 valves,(and it only has 50,000 miles on it) and my car is the 5th they've had THIS year with the same problem! The engine in this car is trash!!!!! DON'T BUY THIS CAR!!!!!

  • Take that stupid MP3 stereo out and beat the shit outta it ... it doesn't even have an AUX in. Now with a more decent stereo with bundle hd and all the other crap I enjoy this car a lot more specially in the highway it's a little uncomfortable in the city tough but thats because im 6 feet tall you wont get 40mpg best ive got is 35 but no complaints you wont get 60mpg on a hybrid either.

Shacks are a little weak IMHO so that's the next big upgrade for me.

    Great Car Overall!

  • ....Wow, that car looks TERRIBLE.

  • very nice car for its price

  • I have one sedan(year 2004) it very good it have 200000km and don't have big trouble.

  • what do you drive?

  • Its a damn rebadged DAEWOO!

  • I got to drive one of these and I must say I was rather impressed. Well, let me get more specific. The interior had horrible quality. Just so cheap and plastic. However, it felt HUGE inside because of the high roof and the driving character was surpringsly pleasant. Very smooth and quiet for a little car, and surprisingly peppy. The handling was pretty much a nightmare on the highway though. Felt like driving a car riding on 4 pogo sticks.

  • the 08 has different interior then the 04. it's darker and different sorta nylon material

  • Yeah I actually really really like the '08's interior. With the tan leatherette and wood trim it looks quite upscale for a small cheap car. That's hard to find in small US cars.

  • @palebeachbum I'm soon going to be buying a top of the line Aveo5 LT. I currently have an 01 Dodge Ram 4X4 Off-Road and it gets HORRIBLE mileage. It gets about 11-15. I'm still keeping it but, I've always wanted an Aveo. They are cute and me being a guy, I am not afraid to say it. I've always liked small cars for their practicality and lack of fuel consumption. Hopefully, my 2 Siberian Huskies will fit in the back. :)

  • not much of a difference between the 04 and the 08. just a darker colour interior and different rims

  • hmm, i suppose i walked right into that one.

  • 22 mpg? where the hell are you getting those figures? maybe driving through gridlock traffic in the metropolitan area against wind, uphill, and with an overweight relative hog tied in the trunk.

  • @creamyfilling102 yea i dont know where he is getting his numbers, i have an 08 hatch and i have never gotten below 32mpg, on the highway the best i have done is 37mpg

  • @creamyfilling102 or towing the spare car you'll need when this thing dies from cock-in-throat strangulation...

  • rio is 110hp lol and kia has biggest interior room/safer then a aveo and its also the 2nd biggest in its class

  • shut up!

  • If I wanted a small 4 door hatch, I would probably choose the Rio over the Aveo. I like the styling better, it's cheaper, and reliability is better. Beside, I refuse to own any car that requires the timing belt be replaced every 30k miles, like in the Aveo. I'd have to have it replaced every year! Craziness.

  • @palebeachbum The Aveo requiers the timing belt to be replace every 60k miles.

  • @mundotaku The owner's manual states 60k miles, but because of premature breakage, Chevy now recommends changing it every 30k miles.

  • @palebeachbum They recommend to check it at 30K, Hilarious, because a lot has to come off/be removed to access the belt, which can make this service costly

  • @mundotaku And the entire vehicle every 40k!...

  • @meandmyevo I have two friends with Aveos with more than 150k miles and they are still in perfect shape.

  • @mundotaku every vehicle is capable of doing a couple hundred K, what makes the difference is how careful you need to be to do it. I have (among many) a 1976 Chevrolet K20 with just over 400K miles on it. All original drivetrain, been used on a farm it's whole life(farms beat vehicles to death). and a 1995 Toyota Tacoma with just over 300K other than a rebuilt tranny at 240K, all original drivetrain. these trucks have been abused like no vehicle should.

  • @mundotaku Has the timing belt broke on either of them?

  • @megazythr Nope. None of the cars have had issues with the timing belts.

  • @mundotaku Lucky you

  • @megazythr The trick is to change the belt every 50k.

  • yeah in the uk there badged as a vauxhall agila all i can say is there is a reason they are so affordible really these cars are junk buy one by all means but what you you save of the forecourt be ready to spend in the garage JUNK full of mickey mouse electronics

  • True, the Aveo is gonna be worthless in five years. But hey,. if you need something to get around town in on the cheap, it don't get much cheaper than this. Except t maybe the Hyundai Accent.

  • My friend just got one for bday, its pretty much the size of my shoe. though its small, its comfy, roomy, good ride, and cute as a button =]

    good car for good price

  • i think its tight how this car can only come manual..hah

  • @serjeylovesjesus I don't think a car with 110 hp deserves a manual trans lol

  • I have a hatchback one, it is way more comfortable and has more horsepower than a Honda Fit. Very smooth ride, built very solid. Impressive, considering Daewoo's history...

  • I drove a 2004 LS automatic with 80K yesterday, and I m amazed at what a nice car it is! Roomy, firm but comfy seats, controls just right, nice stereo, shifted smoothly, rode smoothly and was quiet, even when accelerating. The rear seats fold forward and that is nice. I drove a 2009 Fit Sport automatic and it shifted jerkily, did not ride or handle as well to me. It did have more cargo space seat up or down and more rear room. To me DAEWOO did a better job than Honda

  • better job then honda eh?...the honda beats the aveo in every aspect except price ^^

  • price and power"

  • I drive a 2004 aveo sedan, and it is great, i love it!

  • I hate mine, Its had WAY to many problems.

  • wow ! thanx 4 the information.....is it a great car ?

  • No, Not at all, Mine has been in the shop for a engine problem at about 52 thousand miles and they have to replace the engine. Been in the shop for 3 months now. All tho, A 2002 Kia Sportage I4 4x4 Is a really good SUV. My Aveo has had about 18 problems in 1 year.

  • wow sorry to hear that, not trying to be biased or anything, but usually american cars have more problems than other cars. but i think the aveo is made in korea... i'm not sure, and i'm not trying to sound racist or anything here, just posting a comment

  • really? a kia sportage is better than an aveo? maybe better than YOUR aveo, but i have had mine for two years and have only had one problem with it, the radiator neck cracked and i had to get it replaced at 48,000 miles. not too bad considering i have not had any problems since them with it. and kias are the worst cars sold in america. everyone i know who has owned one says they are total junk and are constantly in the shop. guess they make good use of that great warranty they have.

  • The only problem that i've had with my Sportage is the Clutch went out on it. And the Aveo only had up to a 50,000 Mile warranty from the Dealer ship. I have 54,000K miles on it. I bought Mine in July of 2006. Its been in 1 wreck where i got rear ended. My crankshaft broke, I've had to get the Timing belt replaced, the piston locked up. And the Kia isn't the worst car sold in america. My sister had an aveo, She traded in after 4 months because of her problems, Same w/ my parents. The Kia is good

  • i have 2 kias...only thing ive had to replace is a battery and a tail light bulb in the rio... the aveo screams poverity unlike the rest in this class..

  • @gibsonlespaul2 my acura has 300 000kms on it and its still running strong with the original engine ...

  • I am Very Happy to own an 2006 Chevy Aveo LS Hatchback, Aqua Green; and this little wonder is amazing!very smooth, gas saver and incredibly beautiful!, I am driving the car of my dreams! How many people is lucky enough to say that!!

by the way, my Aveo's name is "Rafita" which means "Little Raphael" in Spanish.

    Peace!
