The voice just pours out effortlessly... What a singer.I think we live in lucky times. To be able to hear so many great voices from recordings. But Luciano is really special and among that top of top crop.
This is so beautiful, please post Adina credimi, I love this aria so much. thank you so much for this beautiful video of the Great Luciano Pavarotti, also Grist is fantastic.
I didnt know they used mic on the stage by then...it is the fact that Pavarotti used to have a very good technique and very gooooooooooooooooood projection!
They did use microphones back then surprisingly enough. The mic/ recording devices used to record the performances were in a fixed location and if the performer turned their back or moved away from the mic, they were not heard as clearly.
Che timbro meraviglioso. Pavarotti un vero tenore lirico-spinto. Irripetibile la sua facilità d'acuto e la sua ironica sensibilità. Il più grande Nemorino di sempre.
His voice was beyond beautiful at this time. The colors, the dynamics, that ring! He lavishes his voice on the words like a generous host pouring out wine. He knows hes got plenty to spare.
This is a wonderful post! A classic, excellent performance from two of the best. The young Pavarotti is just superb, and Ms. Grist is such a rarity. Thank you.. Please post more of both artists if you can.
Pava is great. Reri is just ok.

his projection is crazy, i have to turn it down when he sings haha not saying reri's projection isn't good, just that he's so much louder!
i love them both they are AMAZING!!!!!

She does have a softer voice, but i think he was just a little closer to the microphones at the time.

Wow...my favorite tenor with my favorite coloratura...incredible. Do you have his Una Furtiva? Or her Prendi? I'd love to hear them.

I don't have Prendi, but I will put up Una...
