Basically everything you (or anybody) think you know about presidential protection is pointless because in practice they make changes daily.

Well yeah, minus Watergate, consider his accomplishments - He took the mess we were in thanks to Johnson and got us out of it. And Vietnam was a mess. So yeah, I'd consider him to be one of the greatest President's.
