are there any schools on the northwest that train like this besides just MMA? I like BJJ and striking arts but id rather train with both together. but no MMA i like using a GI.
JA Sport Jujitsu competition is open to all styles, providing equal opportunity for competitors from any style, whether striking, throwing, grappling, or ideally combining all, to compete successfully. We've been very pleased to have outstanding competitors from many styles of jujitsu, judo, hapkido, karate, tae kwon do, kenpo, kajukenbo, and others compete successfully at our events. So, it's not necessary to train in any singular method, but instead according to your own best practices.
First of all, traditional jujitsu looks more like Aikido locks and sumo and judo throws. Any school that claims it as traditional japanese jujitsu with newaza is pretty much a modern westernized jujitsu which is often influenced by wrestling, karate, and/or judo.
Examples.
JJIF: one of the biggest promoters of sport jujitsu is judo+karate+german jujitsu (i think)
Jujitsu America's sport jujitsu is Danzan Ryu with emphasis in striking. Danzan ryu's ancestors include wrestling & judo.
True enough. The JA Sport Jujitsu rules allow for straight-line knee-bars and ankle locks, but not rotational locks on those joints in competition. The compromise is for competitor safety.
What I liked best about competing in Jujitsu America events was the good attitude of the other competitors. Everyone had good control and tried hard not to hurt their opponent. It felt (relatively) safe and fun to compete.
Where do you get this in the UK? There aren't many in the UK/seems easier to do this first than go into MMA

THIS is the way martial arts competition should be... punching, kicking, throwing and ground work; all done safely!
I would let my kids do this and would do it myself. AWESOME.
