  • love shamrock

  • Floyd Mayweather figthing in the MMA is just as stupid as Anderson Silva trying to having a boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. Floyd Mayweather and Anderson Silva will get destroyed. This is just stupid talk or drunk talk.

  • @Vincent776 Anderson started out as a boxer look up his boxing fights he is pritty good. Plus Roy Jones Jr is way bigger than Anderson so thats a bad comparison.

  • @MrEvilpanda69 Starting off as a boxer doesn't make you an excellent boxer. Silva may only be an average boxer. He would lose to most pro boxers. His true talent and greatness is his abilities to utilize his elbows, knees, leg kicks, punches creatively. Take all that away let him rely on his punching. Roy Jones JR. would destroy him. Jones fights at light heavyweight, in boxing that 168lbs, Silva middleweight in UFC thats 185lbs. How is Jones bigger? 185 is bigger than 168 last time I checked.

  • @Vincent776 I ment to say Anderson is bigger not Jones I got them mixed up. Never once did I say just because Anderson started out as a boxer he is a pro. I said he is pritty good. If It were a fight in real life on the street good mma fighters would win over boxers (MOST OF THE TIME) because its a more balanced fighting style not just good foot work and punches . I like boxing always have but you are comparing apples to oranges.

  • @MrEvilpanda69 I didn't randomly select Silva and Jones Jr. and started to compare the two fighters. Maybe not now but Silva in the past expressed his desire to have a boxing match with Jones Jr. Intellectually and thinking on an accurate level I think Jones Jr. would destroy him in a boxing match. But yes in a real life street fight Silva would destroy Jones Jr. The comparison only came because of Silva's comment to have a boxing match with Jones Jr.

  • @Vincent776 I never knew that and I do understand what talking about. Its hard to compare two great fighters like Jones Jr and Anderson. I dont like when boxers trash mma and mma fighters trash boxing. They should just have the respect for each other, To be a boxer takes heart so does fighting mma.

  • None of these MMA fighter couldnt last in a Boxing ring

  • @Antweezysx And not a lot of boxers would last in the octagon :) !

  • Never gonna happen

  • Mayweather will be thrown out of the ring, within the first round. hes a boxing dude stick to it, defo he will a marketing name in that sport however i wouldn never see him go to that fight

  • @Immortalsyn83 Who are some of the ufc fighters who are geting millions every year ? Because I dont know any who earn 10 millions plus every year .

  • @UltraDeed123 Look up "Exclusive Lorenzo Fertitta Interview, Part 2" you can find this interview in my favorites or just type it in youtube search. Also last nights post fight press conference for 138 White announced UFC has produced just since 2006 40 something millionaires, 20 something multi multi millionaires. Boxing has been mainstream before TV was invented & the goal is to pay fighters boxer's salaries. 19 minutes into the post fight press conference 138 so you don't have to watch it all.

  • @antonioferese In boxing yes.. but in a street fight or MMA fight no chance in hell

  • he got more than 25 mil to beat a desperate orrtiz with a sucker punch. who in mma got paid that much ever?

  • @yell3232 Nobody knows exactly how much UFC fighters make, an interview with Lorenzo Fertitta can be found on my favorites. He talks about how several fighters are earning millions every year & some earning 10 million plus every year. They pay their athletes salary on top of medical coverage even if they get hurt in training. The money listed on wiki is only a win or loss bonus, top fighters also get a cut of gate & PPV for the event they headline.

  • and shamrock knows it

  • Shamrock has it. Damn. Shamrock is absolutely correct.

  • Mayweather in MMA...? Hahahah.

  • He would get his ass kicked nuff said just look at what happened with kimbo slice he was good at only one thing and that was boxing but he joined mma and thinking he could be good when he sucked because mma you can do take down kicks etc

  • why does everybody assume hes not a martial artist? for all we know he could be a black belt. fuckin people assume hes never done mma and the truth is, no one knows and itll stay that way

  • @deusamigos He was offered millions years ago to fight Sherk to put his money where his mouth was but dodged that bullet. He is defiantly a martial artist because he is a boxer, hes just not a mixed martial artist & would get destroyed in MMA by any decent submission grappler. Floyd's father Mayweather Sr put it best: "This ain’t no fucking boxing; ain’t none of these motherfuckers scared of his ass. They ain’t going to need a referee because he’s going to tap his own self out if he’s able."

  • @Immortalsyn83 if you go in depth yea hes a martial artist. but boxers dont call themselves martial artists, they call themselves boxers. and i think people are idiots when they say i do mixed martial arts. just say martial arts. martial arts is already mixed. and honstley we do not know if he is a martial artist. like i said he could of been practicing certian arts for years. we will never know but to assume he doesnt is assinine.

  • @deusamigos Floyd is an athlete with martial arts training however hes isn't a mixed martial artist because he perfects only 1 style so hes only called a boxer.

  • @Immortalsyn83 not true again homeboy. done with the convo.

  • @deusamigos Actually its very true, boxing is an individual martial art. It makes more since to call yourself what you train for but if its multiple combative arts, a mixed martial artist is easier to say then going down the list of arts. You could say martial artist but that isn't very descriptive & most people would think karate or Taekwondo. Training other styles would make his boxing worse, he should stick to what hes good at already.

  • Boxers can fite in mma, wit the rite training, its like putting silva n gsp in a boxin, match wit mayweathr, tey gna get out skilld, stupid ppl, its two diff sports, bruce lee wud kick all ur mma, ufcz ass

  • @lbZeDITZ Vitali was knocked out cold by Pele Reid(kick) in 1993 and Roosmalen in 1995 at kickboxing-additionally he was developing knee problems and couldnt handle low kicks-now add wrestling/ Bjj to the mix and how would he have fared?Similarly,a more limiting sport like boxing with hands only would see Klitschko destroy his conquerers.Just different sports wth top boxers having a slim chance at doing well and vice versa at the top levels of the respective sports.

  • best boxer in the world???hes too much of a pussy to fight paquiao..he should fight paquiao nd when he loses he can try to start a carrier in mma..but not before that.

  • I bet if a boxer would crossover and train a full on 1-2 years in mma they would be fully successful i mean we have seen plenty athletes from the NFL Ncaa wrestling wwe and other sports crossover and doing it... Also i dont think athletes dont crossover to boxing because of the money because there is much more money in boxing.. Its just that boxing is perfected at a very young age and you cant have 30yr olds crossover just like in mma.If mma says ooo no boxers wont last y dont they crossover!!

  • @LBzEditz The big majority of MMA fighters came from wrestling, or jujitsu & never had a outlet for competition on a professional level to showcase their skills. A boxer that trained kickboxing or muay thai could make an excellent MMA fighter with enough years of training. Many MMA fighters have had minor success in boxing, many just like MMA more. UFC just made its first big network deal with Fox for 7 years, MMA fighters under the Zuffa banner should expect bigger pay checks in years to come.

  • what about a kick to the face??

  • Beat Pacquao first Floyd!

  • ken shamrock was the only person in the video that made sense... others were just talkin out the ass..

  • Mayweathers striking wouldn't even work in MMA! you have to have a different stance and a different defensive game. Sure, he has the stamina, but that energy goes fast when you're in guard.

  • Boxing aint just hands, its legs to...

  • Comment removed

  • only white trash/beer drinkers/prepubertal tweens watch MMA. when mayweather fights, all the A-list hollywood stars like Denzel, DiCaprio etc., all-star athletes, even Arnold and presidential candidates show up to watch.

  • @danhantheman Arnold has also shown up for a strikeforce (mma) event. Many current boxer's are fan's of MMA such as Roy Jones Jr & Zab Judah (current champion in boxing) has even said MMA is a more entertaining sport than boxing in a youtube video. Dicraprio has also shown up for MMA event's as well.. You are quiet foolish with your choice comments, many A-list celebrities & all stars show up to all types of sporting events.

  • @danhantheman no your racist prick no

  • @956crazyman19 its you're a racist prick. learn some grammar, beer drinker

  • @danhantheman You learn some grammar everyone know your supposed to start every sentence with a capitol letter fucking brain damaged boxing fan

  • @956crazyman19 its everyone knowS YOU'RE supposed to start every sentence...didn't you learn anything?? i didn't think all that humping on the ground did brain damage too! quick, have a beer

  • @danhantheman ok grammar specialist you 're not supposed to capitalize you're and the dots after sentence were unnecessary . trying to be cool cause you get homosexual thoughts watching mma lol theres more to fighting than punching

  • @956crazyman19 is that the mma excuse for the fact that mma fighters look like 'tards when they punch? get punching down before doing other shit, mma is just the dabbler's combat sport. half-ass at everything, master at none.

  • @danhantheman its really funny how hostile boxing fans are

  • @956crazyman19 says the armchair guy who calls me a racist prick assuming im black cuz i dislike MMA. i guess ill assume you're white then! lolol

  • @danhantheman who the fuck said i thought you were black dumbass typical brain damaged boxing fan too arrogant to know the truth about his dying sport lololol

  • @956crazyman19 then why'd u call me racist then. did u think im asian, which i am? u dont even make sense. unlike some boxers, u mma fans dont even have an excuse to be retarded, u just are! LOL. u were born that way

now go hump some dudes, it ain't homo unless u look him in the eye!

  • @danhantheman so when i call anybody racist it automatically makes them black? gtfo of here your such mma hating idiot you just want to be right so bad you have no point in what you are saying mma is the art of fighting boxing is the art of punching which is just one aspect of fighting is that so hard to understand?

  • @956crazyman19 u didnt answer my q motherfucker, u obv called me racist for a reason. stop beating around the bush cuz ur too dumb for it.

and mma is NOT the art of fighting. mma is just another sport with RULES, like boxing is. if u tried to pull some leg lock bullshit on me on the street i would bite u in the face. dont try to pass that MMA 101 stuff on me. a rule fight is warfare and there's a reason we dont do no rules in sports, cuz its for animals. mayweather is right

  • @danhantheman i called you racist caues you think all mma fans are white trash thats a fucked up comment and theres no way in hell you can bite my face if i have you in a leg lock if it were a street fight i wouldnt waste time breaking your fucking leg id just snap it and stand up and stomp on your fucking head.

  • @956crazyman19 lolol you're right i did say that. but its true, mma fans are white trash. not neces the fighters but the fans are. its almost like the WWF fans shifted immed to UFC.

and u wouldnt do shit u little armchair warrior. u prob just play dota and jerk off to anime, and decided mma was AIGHT. unlike u mma fans, most of us boxing fans actually BOX. thats enough to crack ur prepubertal skull

  • @danhantheman you dont know what i do in my spare time and i never said i did mma all i said was if i had you in a leglock it would be impossible to bite my face your the one who brought that up. but if you must know i do practice in mma and boxing and you can claim things all you want but there are plenty mma fans that train also but just because they dont that doent mean anything bad not all fans have to train in the sport they love

  • @956crazyman19 fine fine lets have a truce lol

i actually used to box competitively from philly, so there's my bias. i hate it when know-nothing guys rave about mma when they dont know shit. after awhile im just like fuck it, ill stop explaining and just troll. its not like we dont have our fair share of gay fans either, they're called pactards and i hate them 100x more than MMA fans. but if u truly practice then u know how hard fighting really is, no walk in the park like ball games

  • @danhantheman lol pactards? i never heard of that and yeah people think its easy when its really not

  • @danhantheman dont even mention pactards they r fucking annoying racist fucks saying manny paq is pop pshh the ppl i know that liek manny r flips the pactards dont know shit bout boxing. floyd would beat manny

  • @ageeeeeeeeee i disagree

  • @UpDaDubs34 with floyd beating manny he would

  • @danhantheman hahaha pactards r ANNOYING and both r 2 different sports

  • @danhantheman Ur a fuckin racist because you called him a whit trash beer drinker, which generalizes and stereotypes white people and MMA fans.

  • That's why boxing is a dying sport. It's too boring in today's expectation of excitement. In boxing, you only have 2 striking points..your fists. I'll take Muay Thai over boxing. At least you get to use your fists, elbows, knees and feet. That's 8 different strikes and imagine the combination possibilities compared to that of boxing.

  • @joshnyikachannel no shit he wouldn't fight Anderson silva he doesn't need a bigger guy to win he would get dropped buy Uriah Faber of Tyson Griffin

  • why the fuck would mayweather even want to enter the world of having sex with guys in a cage,,,,,,,,,ufc is for queers,,,,boxing is for men,,NUFF SAID ,,,,and mayweather is the man

  • @turkyish thank you!.. i swear when im a bar watching a UFC match, its like all these racist douche bags with tattoos and a skulls shirt get all excited when theres a take down..

  • @turkyish You are right.. he should stick to entertainment wrestling like he has been... Leave the real fighting to men. All he can do in boxing is play the best game of dancing with the star's.

  • @Immortalsyn83,,,yes ur right he should,,,.doing that and making 40 million for a nites work,,NOT BAD,,, how much do they make in ufc??

  • @turkyish Depends on the fighter but the sport is still too young to be paying any fighters that kinda money. Boxing has had 70+ years to grow & fund money into the sport.. Zuffa owns the primary successful American MMA brands & just a few years ago became a billion dollar organization. Give them a few more years, if the sport stays relevant fighters will earn that kind of money. Only a few big attractions earn in the millions annually. Contracts in UFC is where fighters make most of their buck.

  • @turkyish no... I like boxing and mma but im going to say that its not "having sex in a cage" its more aspects of a fight put into a sport. Peace

  • @turkyish LMFAO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH omg your an idiot

  • @1AztecaBoxing iv seen your vidoes,,,,kill urself,,,,,mayweather will clearly beat ortiz as wel,,,,lol

  • @turkyish ok u twat

  • @turkyish no he wont ground n pound ftw

  • Fucking talentless redneck steroid users.

  • Man Mayweather would get dipped in the first round for sure yea he can train for 3 years and he still wouldn't make it once he feels a leg kick from freaking Anderson Silva he's gonna walk back.

  • @badmuthasuka mayweathers a totally different weight to anderson silva, nobcheese... they wouldnt fight and mayweather wouldnt need to deal with kicks from someone silva's size

  • personally i'm with Mr. Shamrock on this one. I like to see exciting fights period. I mean you either win or you don't, that is the beauty of the cage. If he can really do it then why not? May the best man win. I'm a fan of both but for the first time in a long time i don't even know who the heavyweight champ of boxing is and i find that weird. i just don't find boxing as exciting anymore, no disrespect meant to the art.

  • Floyd vs GSP

Same Size but GSP would win lol

  • @thefresh50 Same size??? Floyd fought from like 125-154... usually stays at 140-147... GSP has always fought at 170... Perhaps you need to go back to school?

Andre Ward is about the same size as GSP... And yes in MMA GSP will probably win easy!

  • @thefresh50 Dude are you crazy? GSP fights at 170 and cuts from, let me guess, 195. Floyd Mayweather is fighting at Welterweight IN BOXING, boxing weight classes go 1 down so welterweight in boxing is lightweight in MMA and middleweight in MMA is light heavyweight in boxing. If you want a guy GSP's size take Sergio Martinez or Paul Williams.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Your crazy bro... Sergio and Paul willaims are MUCH smaller than GSP... GSP fights at 170... Williams and Martinez BOTH fought at 147...

  • @Gooseman2k2 Yeah actually you are right. Sergio is a legit 160 pounder so maybe he cuts from 175 or 180 or something. GSP is at least 15 pounds bigger than him. Probably Chad Dawson is GSP's size.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros I really Don't see Martinez as a legit 160 TBHonest. I see him as a 147 who has grown to 154... but i still outsized by natural 160's All the more credit to him i suppose... I would say GSP is easily 20 pounds heavier on average!

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Lets just let them fight so floyd can lose one.....ok so get of your pc and stop trolling punk ass bitch.

  • @thefresh50 Idiot you are the guy saying a 195 pound guy weighs as much as a 160 pound guy and then you go around insulting me. Have a little dignity please.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Mybad lol

  • Shamrock... you fucking genius

  • its funny how they say there whoop his ass. U guys jump in the boxing ring with him then.

  • iv done very well in mma iv won 27 fights in mma ufc style ground stand up all that and iv fought in boxing boxing is a harder sport i got to let people know iv had 20 boxing matchs now iv done mma muay thai bjj judo and black shirt and level 3 and im black belt and as i was saying i had 20 boxing fights iv lost 10 boxing fights and won 10 boxing is much harder but do i think boxing will get taken over from mma no way in hell will boxing take over mma no way they will have stay to geather

  • @niedoba I had 200 boxing and mma matches see we can say anything on the internet.

  • ryan schultz would get the shit beat out of himself if he tryed to just "Box" mayweather! lol now if they both do the MMA thing think ryan might win.

  • Rip boxing . Boxers are just a bunch of drama queens that never want to fight each other

  • mma cant afford Mayweather duhh..he's richer than all than all ufc combined like wtf???

  • Ken Shamrock and Pat Miletich (whose name they misspelled), aka The Old Guys, are right. They're being smart. I bet they're thinking about how fighters entered MMA in the beginning. They're thinking of how to make the sport bigger, much bigger.

  • For those of you who think mma fighters are better, look at the fight itself. A ufc fight is 3-5 rounds that last two minutes. A boxing match goes 12 rounds! Put a ufc fighter in the cage with a boxer for 12 rounds and they will be dead. Mma fighters are drunk partiers. Boxers are skilled, conditioned athletes

  • @damascus4life The rounds are 5 minutes long, just to let you know.

  • @antonny11 yeah but do you realize the kind of shape boxers are in? im not saying all, but most mma fighters arent in half the shape boxers are in, and arent nearly as conditioned

  • @damascus4life I was just letting you know. Not concerned with the hole boxing vs mma thing

  • @damascus4life As many fat wrestlers you can name, there have been twice as many fat boxers. MMA has some of the best athlete's in the world, many train grappling with Olympians. Ray Mercer former WBO world boxing champion stated you have to be in incredible shape to do MMA. In MMA carrying extra weight could be the difference in a fight, often seen in the HW division. Conditioning is in the individual not the sport, most MMA fighters don't do the same training as their opponent unlike boxing.

  • @damascus4life ya have never trained in MMA boxing is only one thing you have to have in order to survive boxing is cool but it is dead and you know it sad but true

  • @damascus4life MMA has 5 minute rounds. As for looking at the fight itself, mma is constant action in many different positions. i will bet money that 1 round of mma fighting that has jiu jitsu, boxing, wresting, muay thai and everything else takes WAY more conditioning then 4 rounds of dancing around, throwing some punches and then tying up and waiting for the ref to split you up! dont be mad cause boxing is dead and has 2 big name fights left that wont even fight eachother. boxing will be gone soon

  • @emckinnon04005 You should also consider a title fight in MMA is 25 minutes with only 4 breaks during the fight. A boxing match is 35 minutes & their fighters have 11 breaks per match. I always thought it was funny how boxing enthusiast try to insult MMA fighters by claiming their endurance is weaker when boxers take almost three times as many breaks per bout for only 10 more minutes of a less intense fight.

  • @Immortalsyn83 I see you going to EVERY video talking about boxing and MMA... It's actually kinda funny... When it comes to endurance it depends on the athlete... GSP has great endurance sure but Try putting him against a Henry Armstrong or a Marvin Hagler's cardio and hell look like a bum! Let's remeber to that boxing used to have 15 round fights and before that... 80 round fights!

In general tho boxers tend to have better cardio since they are leaner "naturally" larger men...

  • @Gooseman2k2 It appears I am not the only one. I agree endurance is in the athlete not the sport but my point just demonstrates many of the top fighters in MMA are just as conditioned for their sport as a boxer is for his. Gracie vs. Sakaraba rematch lasted more than 90 minutes. A boxer use's a different kind of endurance than a grappler. Strength endurance will easily wear out a leaner more in shape boxer who may even have better cardio because his body isn't conditioned for the sport.

  • @Immortalsyn83 As a rule these days... Boxers are premier athletes... MMA fighters are not... YET! Endurance wise is far too broad to really say, and takes into account to many factors...

The Crux of the matter is... In boxing there are about 16 WClasses and about 1-3000 fighters per class... In MMA there are about 8 weight classes and about 1-500 fighter per class. This is the basis for understanding the real athletic differance between boxing and mma... perhaps in the future this will change

  • @Gooseman2k2 Yes but how long as boxing been a stable sport & how long as MMA been one? I agree MMA still has some catching up to do, but they are coming up at a rapid pace. The sport is far from peaking, I hope they add a 235 division soon... Fighters the size of Fedor & Couture need a chance to compete without having to fight giants like Brock & Overeem. King of the cage has a 235 Cruiserweight division. I wouldn't say fighters like Overeem, Anderson Silva or Jones aren't premier athletes.

  • @Immortalsyn83 What is the MMA equivalent of a Noninto Donaire? a Sergio Martinez? a Floyd Mayweather?

Do you really think any of these guys around today will be able to compete with the level of MMA in 20 years? Of course not! Whereas boxers from 20 years ago can use their science to beat boxers today!

Brock lesnar came into the UFC and in 2 fights he gets a title shot... Don't you find that rediculous? IF Brock took 2 fights and beat David Haye... Boxing would instantly be dead!

  • @Gooseman2k2 Couture; Fedor; Chuck Lidell are all practically household names to any fight fans. Most people don't even know who Sergio Martinez is unless they watch boxing. Bones Jones I can see a bright long future for seeing as he is only 23 years old & already champion. Vitor Belfort started fighting in UFC at the age of 19 & started fighting for the UFC back in 97. Brocks first UFC bout he almost beat a former champion so not really. Brock would murder Haye in MMA, as would any top fighter.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Don't you feel rediculous when they HW champion has 3 fights??? If someone could go into boxing and dominate ANY division at ANY time period in 3 fights... Boxing would not be a sport... It would be a freakshow! I also feel like Haye might just be the PERFECT fighter for MMA. I wouldn't be so sure that Brock would be able to catch a David Haye... and unlike most cruiser's Haye has enough power to put Brock away in 1 shot. He also would come in untrained, hes smart enough to learn!

  • @Gooseman2k2 If you looked at the heavyweight division when he entered the sport & how he handled fighting top fighters I don't see it as being that ridiculous. Granted his popularity did play a roll in how he got those fights but the fact is he won against people he should have beat. He had a 106-5 division 1 wrestling background & did great in every fight minus his last. Not many people can get a guy like Lesnar off once you're down. Even Cain who has wrestling couldn't stop all his shots.

  • @Immortalsyn83 THIS IS MY POINT... how did he come in and handle the BEST MMA GUYS with basically NO training??? Such a thing doesent happen in developed sports! No team is gonna go DOMINATE the Miami Heat after playing some street ball... No 160 pounder is gonna go dominate Williams/Martinez/Sturm or whomever after sparring a few rounds!!! THIS IS NOT THE WAY THINGS WORK!

  • @Gooseman2k2 MMA isn't a team sport. He beat those top fighters all on his own.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Lawl... That literally makes NO sense in regards to my comment...

  • @Gooseman2k2 First off there isn't any sport like MMA, you can either fight or you can't. Lesnar & Toney both got former champions as their debut UFC match. The primary difference is Toney wasn't able to land a single punch & Brock fucked Mir up. You are truly a clueless retard if you think Brock has know combative training, if a boxer somehow obtained an amateur record of 106-5 he would be at the top of the pack in his respective sport. Wrestling is a combat sport, that is combative training.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Ray Mercer also got a nobody for his first fight and got choked out... THEN his second fight got a former champion and KO'd him in 10 seconds... NO MMA guy or K-1 guy is gonna go into boxing and KO Vitali, Or Martinez... Or even a journeyman bum. JUst face the fact... MMA is an infant sport where a man with no knowledge of the game can come in and dominate with an athletic background or a fighting background 10 years in the rust!

  • @Gooseman2k2 Mercer also got TKO in 22 seconds by bonjasky in K-1. It just goes to show fighting is more unpredictable since there are so many different ways to win a fight than just boxing. Toney & Brock both came in as master's of their craft. One became a champion & the other became a joke to the MMA community. What you are still not grasping is it doesn't matter how athletic you may be, you have to know how to defined yourself too. Botha looks like a stud; 48-5 boxing; 4-11 k-1; MMA 0-1.

  • @Immortalsyn83 It's not how many times you fought, It's who you beat... Francois Botha beat only 1 fighter of B level quality and that is Axel Schulz! And even then i think he lost the title because he was Juicing! Whearass in K-1 he beat 2 LEGENDDS of the sport... In Aerts and Le-Banner Although the Aerts fight i agree was stupid! I kno a LHW Club fighter who has a record of 91-3-6!!! Sounds like a top notch dude eh? doesent even raise to the rank of 500 in the world!

  • Tim Silva was training to box a boxer.. he found out quickly they are on a different planet when it comes to that aspect of fighting. He was a kickboxer but his kick's sucked & his grappling where pathetic. Even Jens Pulver days before the event said Tim was training up his boxing because he wanted to test him. Looks like Mercer passed... That made me a big Mercer fan because I always hated Silva even when he was a UFC champ I considered him overrated since I saw the best heavyweight's in pride.

  • @Immortalsyn83 You say fighting is unpredictable, But so was boxing in the 1880's... It's only after the sweet science developed INTO a science where predictability became the sport itself! no sub 500 guy is gonna KO a top 5 guy... EVER! I can't think of one time anything like that has happened... Whearass in MMA it happens routinely. You will see in the coming decade(s) that MMA will slowly evolve into a much more stable science like BJJ or Boxing.

  • @Gooseman2k2 I agree with this statement, MMA is still in it's infantile stages. They are still developing new ways of training & ways to mesh styles every day. Constantly we see new styles emerging in the sport but MMA as a sport IMO will always be more unpredictable because of the dynamics of full body combat. Francois Botha faced six world champions during his boxing career, including Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis. He was a heavyweight that lost to a middleweight MMA fighter Yoshihiro Akiyama.

  • @Immortalsyn83 He also fought a young W Klitschko... and got easily KO'd by all 3... I can't name a fighter he beat other than Alex Schulz... i really can't! That's not to say he wasent a B level fighter in the early-mid 90's! by 99 I would consider him a Veteran Journeyman... and by 2002 he was just a complete fat mess... Only after he couldn't make a penny did he try his hand at other things.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Fighting is Chaos... the one who controls the chaos more wins. This is the essence of Combat Sports. The fact that MMA looks and is more chaotic just means it's at a lower development state. This is not to it's credit!

  • @Gooseman2k2 Or perhaps boxers are at an even lower stage of combative development than a bum off the streets like Kimbo. Akyama gave up a ton of weight to his much larger athletic opponent with 44 wins in boxing & 4 k-1 matches under his belt vs a guy with zero ring experience. Akiyama was a former gold medalist in judo via asian games, making his debut MMA match against a top ranking boxer. Botha fought Holyfield last year for his WBF title, he is still relevant in boxing, just not fighting.

  • @Immortalsyn83 There is no WBF title... and Holyfield is about as relevant in boxing 2005+ as Botha is... which is 0... In the realm of combat sports... Boxing is king... No other guys can compete in boxing... Boxer's can compete in others... And since the money goes in favor of boxing, If these other fighters COULD compete in boxing... they WOULD! Kimbo i agree is a total bum... and that goes to show you how bad MMA is when they SIGN a bum like Kimbo!

  • @Gooseman2k2 Money is only favored in boxing because the sport has lasted much longer in this country already so those events that where put on the last 50+ years put money into the sport. Making a financial comparison is pretty ignorant on your part... Know sport made millions right away & the highest paid athelete in the world is a golfer so money means jack shit as far as skill goes. Sponsors, investors & sales puts money in a sport... it doesn't magically appear. At least Kimbo beat mercer.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Plus i doubt Mayweather would have a 1/5 chance of knocking out a 155 pound Sean Sherk in an MMA fight with no training... I just don't see it happening... Mayweather is a Boxer not a Mixed Martial Artist... a Million to fight their best guy would be both an insult and suicide.

  • This debate is why the two sports shouldn't even be compared, they are vastly different and require different skill sets & training to succeed. A top boxer will never be a UFC champion & a fighter will never successfully cross over into boxing & take a title. Boxing limits everything a fighter is trained to do & fighting in a full body sport takes a boxer completely out of his element. I am stoked to see these NFL stars like Herschel Walker having success in fighting, he is a great athlete.

  • @Immortalsyn83 A top Boxer will never become an MMA champion... because why would he decide to drop to a lower competative and financial level? and an MMA champion will NEVER become a top Boxer... because... he CAN'T! There is the differance! If MMA guy's were really that great they would go beat Mayweather and take a nice 25 million! Wherass Mayweather would only ever fight in MMA if he couldent make 100k, and would decide to take a paycheck in MMA!

  • @Gooseman2k2 Actually a boxer can't either.. if they could someone would have done it. Toney made half a million alone for his losing bonus. Dana White already offered Mayweather millions to step in & face Sean Sherk years ago which Mayweather declined because much like Couture he knew he had know chance in the opposing sport. That is fine, I wouldn't expect a boxer to want to fight real fighters because it isn't what they are trained for much like a fighter doesn't train boxing like a boxer.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Real fighting lawl... Have you EVER in your life seen a fight that looked like an MMA match? I have never nor will i ever i imagine! I doubt pulling guard is an effective way to FIGHT an opponent who actually wants to hurt you... You ever been bit in the neck? Ever had your eyes attacked? Ever had someone grab your ribcage or collorbone? THAT'S real fighting, NOT MMA lawl. MMA is the sport of Cage Fighting... Boxing is the sport of Prize Fighting.

  • @Gooseman2k2 Fuck yah, I've seen a ton. Maybe where you are from people fight like pussies but I've seen some scrapes and some are much worse than MMA matches. I've seen a dude get his eye pulled out in font of me... it doesn't change the fact that both are sports that obviously have rules. MMA is the sport of fighting; boxing is the sport of punching. Not all boxers make loads of money, only a few are making millions the rest make chump change still just like most fighters.

  • @Immortalsyn83 All you do is repeat things you have heard from Dana and Joe Rogan... Literally I have seen you echo 20 things he's said... All of which tend to be wrong! MMA is the sport of Cage Fighting... They don't take into account Clothing... Weapons... ACTUALLY EFFECTIVE MOVES like biting. Numbers, HEADBUTTS!

I doubt youve ever witnessed a real fight let alone taken part in one! LITERALLY all of your arguments are copied from stuff youve heard in Boxing vs MMA vids...

  • @Gooseman2k2 Actually that is directly from an interview with Mayweather Sr idiot. It doesn't matter what some moron like you thinks about combative arts since you clearly don't know shit about MMA or even the sport you are trying to pointlessly defined. I didn't want to carry on this pointless debate.. you did. I like & enjoy both sports but I am not gonna sit there & let you fabricate bullshit.

  • @Immortalsyn83 You don;t want to CARRY ON?>?? ALL YOU DO is comment on MMA vs Boxing videos LAWL! There is no question in the minds of Combat Sports fans which are the better. I don't say that Mixed Martial Artists will ALWAYS be worse... It's just been the case since MMA came about! Too say I don't know MMA is just stupid. But to say YOU don;t know anything about boxing is totally justified!

I agree than Mayweather right now has a very low chance of succeeding in MMA against even B level guys!

  • @Gooseman2k2 Committing isn't the same as endless pointless dribble debates such is the shit you have me constantly responding too. I know plenty about boxing, I respect the form and what they do I just don't find it as appealing as a full body combative sport like MMA or K-1 for that matter. Boxing has more competition because it's an older sport, I see what you are saying but that doesn't make the sport any less skillful at the elite levels. Take 1000 boxers put em in MMA, they will all choke.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Sports are from the ground up... Skill doesn't JUMP higher and faster with less competition... Less guys, getting paid LESS money, with MUCH LESS experience in a new sport... does NOT MEAN that the athletes are of equal quality at the elite or contender or journeyman or even CAN level! Not to mention how complicated MMA is to begin with!

Take 1000 boxers and put them in MMA... and MMA will be made up mostly of boxers.... LAWL! And if they don't train MMA... MMA WILL BE boxing!

  • @Gooseman2k2 I would imagine 95% of those boxers would get laid off after their first match similar to Toney because they lack actually fighting skills necessary to compete against trained MMA fighters. The big problem is they have to win... if you aren't trained in all aspects of the sport you are going to lose. Skill is already exists in MMA, most top fighters have trained 10 or more years in various combative styles already to be in the top echelon of the sport.

  • @Immortalsyn83 Yes if you don't know and train the game of MMA you are going to lose sooner or later... No one debates that! But to become a top MMArtist takes very little time... Brock stops wrestling for 8 years... and even then was an amature athlete, then 3 fights in he beats the best MMArtist perhaps EVER!

I don't know anyone who has mastered fighting... so i wouldent know how long that takes... Niether do I know anyone who's even close to mastering MMA.

  • @Gooseman2k2 Brock never beat Fedor although I believe on a lucky day he possibly could. Not many HWs look like Brock & have his grappling experience even in MMA which is why he got to start out fighting former champions in UFC. Fighting as a whole can't ever be truly mastered but any champ of boxing or MMA is recognized as the current best in the world at their respective sport. When he came in the sport UFC still didn't have a solid HW division. It's just starting getting good a few years ago.

  • @Immortalsyn83 I meant Couture not Fedor... Couture is for sure one of the best MMArtists ever. Fedor as well of course. It's good to see a combat sport with at least an EXCITING HW division. Cain and JDS are sure a huge step up in MMA skill but there are many many many more rungs to go through before it will get a nickname like "Cage Craft" as boxing is called the "sweet science".

  • @Gooseman2k2 Lawl... I am just glad MMA finally got some decent heavyweights... Overeem looks promising too, I hope he wins that grand prix & gets to fight the winner of cain & JDS.

  • @Immortalsyn83 But MMA guys have nearly no chance of competing with D Level Boxers! Big differance

  • @Immortalsyn83 Dana's latest offer to Mayweather was 100,000 Dollars...

  • White was a guest on Bubba the Love Sponge Show & mentioned his previous statement about him offering Mayweather $1 million if he can draw more than 10 fans for a fight that didn’t involve Oscar De La Hoya. Obviously, that offer is in jest but the UFC president issued a new offer, $2 million if Mayweather agreed to fight the promotion’s lightweight champion, Sean Sherk. This interview was done way back in 2007.

  • @Immortalsyn83 I apologize... I didn't see that... So it's NOT 2% of his purse... it's more like 4-5%...

Nevermind Sean Sherk... Even a guy like Diego Sanchez would probably just take Mayweather down and Sub him... To get that level of Athlete in MMA would take many many Millions and probably 3 years of MMA training! Not to mention hed still be at a disadvantage of not learning MMA till now. Now how long do you think i would be till Sean Sherk could step in and fight a top 100 boxer?

  • @Gooseman2k2 Most likely never, just like Couture & Brock because they come from a wrestling background. Boxing takes a life time to perfect as does fighting... Know body woke up one day & magically became an MMA champion... hard work, dedication & training are a must for any combative sport. Boxing has more competition which is where MMA is headed... its the fastest growing sport... One day it will probably catch up to boxing or perhaps never... only time can tell.

  • @Immortalsyn83 I think Dana offered Mayweather 1 million flat dollars... which is about 2% of his weight purse to fight De La Hoya... That alone should show you how dumb that statement is. Toney i think is one of the highest paid MMA athletes of all time... Right behind Fedor, Brock and GSP.

Now when i say purse... were not talking about finances... a Purse is what a fighter ears from a bid by a stadium. as well as a cut from cable of PPV sales (sometimes), Which basically is the demand.

  • @Gooseman2k2 Actually he offered money that would make since to Floyd.. it was much more than 1 mil. He turned it down because he knows he can't fight in a full body combative sport like MMA. His dad said it best: "The quickest money going to get his ass where he can’t make no money. They going to break his fucking limbs. One of them motherfuckers hit him upside his fucking head and he may never be the same. I’m just telling the truth." "When they get through with his ass, he will be retired."

  • mma fighters don't know what their talking about. They can fight, but it's really just a brawl. I don't care who you are, if a good boxer can hit you with good combos, then your in trouble

  • Comment removed

  • mma can't afford floyd...

  • Chris Horodecki is my dude, great fighter, one of my favs, he can go with Mayweather if he jumps to MMA, I call Chris Tekken because he can pull off ten hit combos in real life!. Jay Hieron is the dude, really respect his fight game. Ken Shamrock has a point, only to the extent about that is how boxers should come in if they want to try MMA, however I think he was only thinking about the money that could be drawn, that is what he means missing the boat....gravy boat....20 million dollar boat.

  • Boxers are great combat athletes but Mayweather would get killed by an average MMA fighter.

  • No one gets killed in MMA. People get killed in Boxing because it's a more extreme, dangerous sport.

In MMA people get 69'ed and put in other gayboy positions.

  • @tetrisclock It's such an extreme dangerous sport they payed politicians millions of dollars to put bans on their competition keeping them from promoting fights in certain states to keep the sport from outgrowing boxing. Boxing is more dangerous than MMA, the standing 8 count puts fighters at risk of brain trauma and is the primary reason why boxing is more dangerous. However it makes no sense to have such a rule in a real fight or in the sport of fighting.

  • boxing vs a bad ass hhahaha

  • fuck me! The first sensible thing Ive heard from an MMA guy - kudos to Shamrock. A sensible video on youtube about boxing and mma - whatever next...

  • fuck me! The first sensible thing Ive heard from an MMA guy - kudos to Shamrock.

  • Man, fuck mayweather. Has anyone noticed floyd fights not to lose instead of fighting to win? All he does is counter-punch. Who has he ever fought that was worth a shit?? He fights washed up champs who are way past there prime. The smell of pussy reminds me of mayweather.

  • mma fighters are wrestlers who street fight . these mma fighters talk about all their weapons but unless the fight goes to the ground its just an amateur fight .when these guys thow kicks and miss they are wide open unless a boxer is on his back a good boxer is always in position to punch. how does a boxer defend agaist the takedown- footwork plain and simple mma fighters are not used to that type of skill

  • @dman1311974

Please tell me what would happen if you get a fighter like Anderson Silva, who will use push kicks and leg kicks to stay out of the range of a boxer, and put him in the cage with Mayweather?

The likely outcome is Anderson will move BETTER than Mayweather, strike more effectively, clinch, and just generally outclass him.

  • @devildoctim

No, what would happen is that Mayweather would just run around in circles and pretty much nullify the ability of that event to even be called a fight.

  • @dman1311974 Footwork, is that what James Tony was lacking that night? You would call GSP, Anderson or Aldo a street fighter because they are good at MMA? Your delusional to even compare a sport of punching to the sport of fighting. What your not grasping is when fights go to the ground that's what would happen in a real fight against a smart modern day athlete. Just because someone is a great boxer, it doesn't mean they can actually fight against real top elite fighters.

  • @dman1311974 have you ever boxed with an MMA fighter who takes boxing? have you ever been inside leg kicked vy some1 in mma RIGHT

  • @dman1311974 What? Wrestlers who street fight? First off MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts. If you look many MMA fighters are experts in their martial arts and not all mma fighters wrestle. Many use Judo and brazilian Jiu jiustsu and they learn arts that utilize strikes such as karate or Tae kwon do even boxing. So many MMA fighter could stand with Mayweather. Some of which would be Anderson silva, GSP, possibly BJ penn or Igor Vovchanchyn. Also Randy Couture vs. James Tony?
