Some composers criticize Hans. Its because he took us in the direction of electronic mock ups and using synth wails. He is very studio based and does so much on his keyboard. I knew a composer who thought he'd dumbed down music. John Williams and other composers use so many more notes and their music is written for the fullest capability of an orchestra, not written on a keyboard. Personally I love Hans' style. I like his passion and load brassy style. His music is great.

@AdayahMusicVideo I think this makes him incredbile. That he utilises modern technology. It doesn't have to be done the old way. Hans Zimmer uses what sounds right, whether that's a razor on a string, or a keyboard. His soundtracks may sound similar, but that's because part of him is in it. Comes from the same way of expressing things. Things get louder and louder and more intense because really that's sometimes how emotions feel. They grow until it overwhelms, then theres some kind of resolve.

Pirates of the Caribbean is composed by Klaus Badelt AND Hans Zimmer. Klaus did the first movie, Hans the 2nd and the 3rd. And I hope the fourth, of course.

@musikilian - Klaus Badelt was actually a young protege of Hans Zimmer and I believe Hans played a HUGE hand in the composition of Pirates 1 (some say he just credited Badelt with his score) and re-took possession of it for Pirates 2 and 3.

It is an incredible hart task, being told to compose a musik which fits the plot of a movie, buit it is even more hart to make it also sound so beautiful that you could just keep on listening to the music without even watching the film, and Zimmer ALWAYS manages it. I think many people just do not pay as much attention to a movie's soundtrack as is worth to be spend. This man really is a legend, I honour your works so much! Thank you.

actually... he did INDEED compose portions of Pirates 1. He's a Pirate is his theme, not Klaus Badelt. Klaus actually wrote 45% of the first score... Hans' actually said that.
