  • Spent hours trying to figure out how to open this without cheating. Tried brute strength, tried lifting the slightly looser panels of the E and W with my fingernails, tried licking it- nothin. Eventually after vigorous tapping on each end I manage to take it apart, see how it works, put it back together, and spend another 15 minutes trying to find an elegant solution. Then I see @actorsfav 's solution, Spin it on my tabletop on one corner, falls apart in 2 seconds. *sigh*. I love puzzles :)

  • this puzzle is from hell!

  • @Jorjeca Yes, it's like the Hellraizer's Cube. LOL!

  • i still cant solve it. i spin it quite alot of times. when i shake it. there's a sound coming out.

  • The sound from inside is normal, don't worry.

For another solution, see the video response above.

The guy speaks a lot, but at 2:30 finally shows the puzzle solution.

  • i got the answer from "Scrogged" with bill murray, i went into it know that it had to be something on the inside as one cannot pry it, and thus spinning is only logical idea, stand on one end, spin till it falls and rattles the pins loose, works 99.99% of the time, if not more

    cheers

    :)

  • Nice. I just span mine on the table when it was upright. It then fell over due to the spin and it was a matter of chance as to whether the pins were clear or not... It worked so I didn't bother trying to find the 'formal' solution. I had the Enigma to get through. Currently on the Marble and Vortex :)

  • you can take it appart simply by spinning it in the air droping it on the table...

  • i solved it with in the first 3 min by pure luck.. i spun it in the air and when i caught it it fell apart.... a 2 second solution is stand it on its side so you see all 8 letters N,N,S,S,E,E,W,W then spin it... when it stops spinning and falls if it already hasnt flewn apart pick up only touching the north and south sides

  • Yes, spinning it mid-air is another solution but it's not a "formal" one to be explained in a video. I also solved it by throwing it, but you have to learn to throw it in a specific way to do it. As for your 2 sec solution I'll try it ASAP, but (no offence) I don't really think that it works.

  • @actorsfav me to except i kept throwing it to the ground

  • How do you put the damn thing back together?

  • That's easy! You put down both parts with the pins facing up. Then you spin them or push the pins all the way to the sides. Then flip over one of the pieces, in a way that the pins don't move and put it together. If you don't succeed, just retry.

  • Muy Bueno la explicacion perfecta, I relle ynderstood all the explanation, i tried once and i Solve that masterpiece .

Un verdadero ingenio de ss creadores y garcias a ustedes por este video tan sencillo pero util

  • i put mine back N W S E reading it clockwise. how do i fix it.

  • I can't understand what you mean. Have you seen the video and it didn't help you? If yes, try to describe your problem better. You put it together upside down you mean? If yes, try to spin it with the pins facing up. Upload a photo of your puzzle if you like and send the link here for me to understand better.

  • it okay. i got it. i under stood your vid. but when i took it apart and put it back to gether it read north, west, south east reading clockwise. good vid. thanjks ofr your concern.

  • I almost stabbed this thing last night !

  • It can really send you to the shrink! After I solved it a couple of times and studied its mechanics, I could also "hack" it open with 3 small pieces of "thin paper" (baking paper) that each one was blocking a pin. The fourth pin was unlocked by gravity/movement.

  • I chose the music because I like it. It has nothing to do with the puzzle and also it was the first mp3 that I found in front of me. I made the video for the puzzle solution, so the music was not important and it was there just for not being a silent video.

  • Mine doesn't work like that. It was probably stuck straight from the box. It pisses me of 'cuz I DID pay 12 euros for it. May sound like little but I'm not that rich really.

  • It may look hard outside, but its pins inside are very delicate and they must be easy to stick. It's a real pity if you buy something and it's broken, no matter how much it costs.

  • I can't get it to open!

  • If you follow the video instructions, it's very simple. The only other thing that comes to my mind, is that your puzzle might be broken in some way.

  • lol i thought there was a compass inside.

  • do you have giant hands, or is your NEWS smaller than mine? Yours looks tiny.

  • As I recall, mine was about 5-6 cm wide (about 2.5 inches). I borrowed it from a friend so I can't measure it right now. I don't think that I have "giant hands"! LOL!

  • I think that's the original solution. I didn't actually spin it. LOL

  • The first time I solved it, it was 100% luck, after 2 hours. Then I've seen a bit it's interior mechanism and found out the solution.

  • Yeah, I threw it in the air instead...

and the funniest part is when my friends first figure it out, the hardest part is to put it back together. (which is the easiest, LOLZ)

  • Lol dude i didnt need this video but i just want to comment on this, me and my friend had a funny storry about opening this. We were just playin with it and spun it while it was standing up, and it popped apart! we were so exicted!

  • is there like some kind of mechanism in there to open it? i dont get it??

  • Yes. There is a system of crossed "pins" (I don't know the exact word) inside, that are also divided in half (every pin in half). So they must all go to the sides. But there is also another mechanism that prevents the pins of the "upper side" to go to the sides. In that way you can only solve the "lower side", and then you must flip it over so the pins of the "lower side" to be horizontal and don't lock again. If you solve the puzzle you can see it better inside.

  • thanks!

  • Yeah, when you spin it, it forces the pins apart which are the locks, so once you do it to both sides it opens, I honestly never saw it coming, after like 4 hours I started to think i got ripped off rofl.
