So basically it's one chord F7 (9) (With its related interchangeable 3,5 & 7 extended chords A-7b5, Cm6, Ebmaj7 all arpeggiated upward and connected by the root chord descending bebop scale creating a repeated cycle.
Another consideration is that the descending F7 bebop scale can be replaced by any of its related 7th chord bebop scales (Ab7, B7, D7). Also the ascending arpeggios can be replaced by those same 7th chords as well as their extensions. Possibilities are infinite for flow lines.
Most of the "bebop" experts cannot seem to present it in a usable way. They talk in esoteric phrases and play exemplary "licks" that are mostly unintelligible. (no pedagogy in other words). They do not even make a good coach. The same is true for most "scale" theories. Better to play over chords (the chord octave scale). Better also to have played the Great American Song Book for a while (2-5-1 and 1-6-2-5 and even 12 bar blues progressions) THEN move up to improvisation increments
F79=A-7b5=C-6=EbMaj7#11=many other inversions It all depends on the root and the functionality of these chords. Please check a books by Brett Wilmott. He really expends on that subject. Hey SB-love you always.
Excellent lesson fragment. Sheryl you really explain the thought process well. And that line is a great "spinal cord" that illustrates what bebop is about. Nice!

Theodore Sturgeon had a great short story called Microcosmic God, but I guess that's not the same thing. Great video Sheryl.

Thought this lesson started at like 3:00 and ended too early. Has potential though.
