The check points are then used to catch these people and toss them in jail and get rid of the drugs. That is the main reason for these checkpoints. I never even crossed the border, told them no they couldnt put thier dogs n my car cause i didnt want them all over my clothes and bags. Why do you think they want OPEN BORDERS? They despise the Capitalistic system! They are against the US choosing English as the nations language. History has shown what happens to countries that have great populations of people who speak different languages. They Balkanize The US motto is E Pluribus Unum Out of many ONE! But a blending of diverse cultures unique in culture but one in language. This cements us together as one. And the ACLU is against this! Because it might offend somebody, not caring what the consequences and final outcome will be? A nation like Canada, or the Balkans! Wake up people! Oh, and I hope everyone realizes that if Al'Qaeda ever gets their hands on a nuclear weapon, they will smuggle it into the US through Mexico or Canada in the same exact way a drug trafficker smuggles his marijuana.
Oh, and if you have problems with the US Government's take on the constitution, write your congressmen. The Border Patrol's authority comes from the constitution too. The supreme court has held that a K9 alert provides probable cause necessary for a "REASONABLE" search and seizure

The usual path to a constitutional challenge of a law is through the courts, not Congress.
A person who is cited for disobeying a law that he believes is unconstitutional pleads not guilty. The prosecution is then required to prove that the law is valid and has been broken. Then the case works its way up to the Supreme Court, if needed.
First the person must be cited, something the government can be hesitant to do if it thinks it will lose in court.

Some people forget millions of dollars of illegal drugs and thousands of illegal aliens cross our borders everyday. Perhaps we should just let them in. But when your child overdoses on crack cocaine, or gets kidnapped in Phoenix, Arizona(which has become the #2 kidnap capital of the world behind only Mexico City) by Mexican sex slavers, perhaps then they will reconsider.

Okay, so you have a problem being stopped and searched at a checkpoint. SCOTUS has determined that this is lawful and the case has been brought up and the ruling upheld on more than one occasion. What I wonder about though, is your I'm an American attitude. If you are all about America, why did you go to MEXICO for tile? Was it cheaper, probably...but because YOU buy tile in MEXICO, an American is closer to losing his or her job. I'm sure you are proud to help out your fellow Americans.
