lame.. i hate games where vehicles are the best and its hard to dish out your anti tank infantry because they get sniped or flanked by a infantry squad..

when i say armor... i wasnt being specific. something WOULD break on the tank. probably the tracks, completely immobilizing the tank, and allowing anyone to blow the thing away. BTW tanks armor is the weakest on the top, so the top armor could collapse, knocking the tank out. but the guy manning the Anti Aircraft mount on top of the tank would of died
The weakest part on a tank is the the back. and the roof armour would not collapse as it is thick steal (jagdtiger 250mm). The tank would (could) get stuck in the rubble but that matters on size. take the jagdtiger for example, its about half the hight of a two story building so i dont think it would have trouble going straight through a buildng.
actually... the weakest part of the tanks is the bottom, then the top, then the back, then often the sides (though it is sometimes as thick as the front) then the front. The German Supertanks such as the PanzerKampfwagon VI (Tiger) KoenigsTiger (King Tiger or Tiger II), Jagdpanther, jadgtiger, sturmtiger etc. stressed the engines and tracks severely. it wouldnt take much more stress for 1 or the other to break. so going through a building was not the best of ideas
Nothing would break most likely, but the engine will stop working probably because of dust and rubble entering the air intake, and it would simply get stuck under tons of concrete.
this did happen in wartime. Tanks would hide or flee inside a building, which would be shot up by the chasing tank.
I play both CoH and FoW, both games are unrealistic in some ways, FOW is unrealistic in gun wise, voice wise, building wise (noone would drive through a building), but CoH is really only unrealistic balance wise (CoH is balanced the crappy way, but then again FoW is too) .CoH is much more moddable though, and everyone knows, the most moddable is the best.
i know that it is doable, but it will damage the tanks armour a little bit (same effect as having a very low penetrating weapon shooting a tank) if you crashed through every building in a city, the armour would be kinda cracked and weak, allowing easy penetration) also how does the guy manning the AA MG42 on the top survive?
Both are moddable to be more realistic, yes, but the original versions of these games I have to say FoW is more realistic, in COH there are squads, if a American squad of 6 run into a Wehrmacht squad, they will stand and shoot at each other until a health bar goes down far enough and eventually a man will fall over dead, in FoW, where you shoot, the bullet hits, or in that general area depending on the accuracy of that gun
I am not here to harras you , but FoW is 5000x times more realistic than Company of Heroes which is a casual arcade title.
It's just a matter of how much realism you demand, no game out there can replicate totaly but FoW obviously have more realism than any other strategy game and its sequel Men of War will as well.
Their advanced physics engine makes simulation of projectiles and ricorsettets crazy real and the damage and penetration models are very advanced.
CoH and FoW are both unrealistic in some ways... In FOW, being able to take 50 bullets in the face before dieing is unrealistic. CoH has something similar (where in close range soldiers still miss a lot). controlling 1 vehicle/soldier completely isnt really realistic either. people being able to cary 4 weapons + ammo isnt realistic, but neither is upgrading then the soldiers grabbing the weapons out of their packs. CoH and FoW are both unrealistic.. no game WILL be completely realistic.
Of course no game can be completely realistic no matter if it's FPS or Real time strategy , i hope NO ONE is so dang dumb that he thinks any game will totally replicate reality.
Still there are more realistic games and more arcade games, SOHOWW2 , FOW and MOW belongs to hardcore realism compared to arcade titles such as Company of Heroes.
In the fps genre it would be like Call of Duty (arcade) vs Operation flashpoint (realism).

This was an awsome game. Highly underated. I remember going on the exact same rampage with the Jagdtiger. I luv how u can control the units individually and take charge of a tank if u were bored or RTS. I read Ign gave it like a 7 cos they said it was to complicated. All the commands are like the real actions of soldiers for godsake. Surpressing fire, take cover behind sandbags. Whats so complicated bout that.
this game is in nooway like company of heros and has some of the most unique gameplay ever. i dont know any other game where you can drive your own tank when its an rts game and start driving through houses while blowing people up. this game was way underated and didn't get much support, but the modders sure helped make the game nice and good looking

FOW is pretty fake and bad. It takes like 10 shots to kill a single soldier, the Russian soldiers talk with an American accent(sounds really bad), you can control only a couple of group formations and not much tactics are needed.

Company doesn't have enough realism such as Tank running buildings/soldiers down and also soldiers sitting on the tank. However, I guess CoH is still my favourite right now. But this game looks okay.

The rationale is that in COH you see tank popping from factories and buildings blow up when their "blood" reaches 0; and in FOW you measure the flight path of a tank shell, and of course you worry about ammo and fuel.
