The sound of the orchestra after 2:01 is splendid! It's too bad that more footage with the band backing the dancers wasn't included, but that's not even a concern given how amazing it is that this survives. The ironic use of the song IS brilliant (and strikes me as fairly avant-garde for the period) - the somewhat hokey vocal duet and predictably sentimental lyrics are quite a contrast to the drama and tension. And somehow the Hungarian intertitles only add to the atmosphere!
Jonas, great clip. Ironic use of the naive song. Merna is nervous, but love triumphs. Beautiful tracking shot back, back, back when Tryon and Kennedy on stage.Intense Brent. Sexy and hard
The great Paul Porcasi at 4:20. Apolinaris in Footlight Parade, Lo Tinto in Morocco, and Trentini in Maytime
This reminds me of Singin' in the Rain, when the lips are out of sync with the sound. LOL!
