Bought the '08 Malibu LTZ two days ago (2/7/08) Exterior Red Jewel tintcoat, cocoa/cashmere interior. Love it. Plenty of driver legroom (i'm 6'4"), and plenty of V6 oomph! 252 hp. woohoo! decent fuel mileage, too.
2 things missing. Oil and Volt gauges and a 6 speed manual.Nice looking car otherwise. What's with the Audi like front end ?? Tail light look like the Nissan Skylines except it doesn't have a separate brake and turn signal.
Resale value really does depend on a lot of factors such as future demand, fleet sales, the overall used vehicle market, perceived value, etc. Ask yourself this: does Honda have a 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty including roadside assistance? GM does and wants the world to know how good their products are these days. Give the new Malibu a try. You won't be disapppointed.
Does anyone know if the 2008 chevy malibu well have good resell value or is that up to the future demand. Because someone told me that Chevys have low resell value and the Honda accord has high re sell value.
car looks good...but i think they need to work on the sunroof a bit...gm's sunroof all doesn't look clean on the car when opened. they should have made the ones that slide inside instead of on top of the roof.
that car has great power!!!

Would really like a manual tranny or at LEAST manual mode on the shifter instead of the paddles. Great car none the less.

Great car GM! It looks fast sitting still.

Very impressive car! To bad they had to name it "Malibu", this car is worthy of a name unto itself.

Actually, I agree.
THIS car should be the Impala while the current Impala should be called the Caprice.
Of course, many people will argue that it has to be RWD to be a Caprice, but that was the same thing when the first FWD Impalas came out.
And, let's face it, those are still better names than Malibu, Celebrity, Corsica, and Lumina.
But, the new Malibu appears to be a great contender, and it's about time. Here's hoping that it sells well because GM deserves it for this effort.

That is the reason Toyota Honda took over the segment. American car companies canged names to much

the leasing company is expecting a really good resale value on this car, from what I have read and heard.
