second, the sounds arent weird, most houses have these strange noises. it's called night, when it get's colder, stuff shrinks, it makes a noise. you can hear the same shit happen during the day

consider the fact you messed yourself up with superstition, because of rumors you heard.

@jakestarkiller It's how you approach the hotel mentally. I went in with the "no fear" approach but somehow the entity got to me in my sleep. I was so tired from not sleeping the night before my flight along with being in high altitude that it didn't bother me too much. If I went in there "scared" I would have probably hauled ass out of there before bed time. lol I went to the hotel by myself. Most people probably wouldn't do that. lol

A couple of the noises sound like switches. The others (that aren't you) sound like wood noise.

Not too surprising they come after 4am; the coldest part of the day when the wood is contracting.

I would be more suspicious of rhythmic sounds, which I don't hear.

You would need to record again under as similar a setting regarding weather and time of year to make a comparison then do the same in another room.

Kind of expensive for a spook hunt.

Do what the TV boys never do. Actual tests.

@McHenryAnge The most disturbing part of staying in this room was the nightmare I had (That you see me sit up in my sleep). I heard a child running up and down the hall and then slamming my door open. I was trying to force myself to get up from a deep sleep. When I wake up and look around (that you see in the video) I just figured someone checked into a nearby room late. When I checked out I found out rooms were still vacant. That was an eerie day b/c the hotel was vacant for the most part.

@BLO383 Actually, the camera was pointed to the door in the back. My intention was to capture a "ghost" and see if the door would open by itself while I was asleep. May God be my witness in Jesus name I did not make those noises. I actually taped the EVP on my laptop while I slept but the stupid hard drive crashed when I got home. I wouldn't even know how to replicate those weird popping sounds. These sounds are natural phenomenon whether it be b/c of the building or a "ghost."

I just got back from two nights staying in room 428. First night I went to bed around 3am... my son and I wandered the halls while other people slept. The second night we all went to bed at 1am and we also recorded for 6.5 hours until I turned off the camera because, it was morning. I heard a lot of bangs during both days, had my door open to the hallway outside of my room once (loose door?), and recorded similar things.

I just stayed in this room on Monday night. I hate to say it, but those noises happened from 4:00 until the next morning when we woke up. I have them all over my camera recordings as well. It's not paranormal, it's the old hotel. Too bad I didn't experience anything, still reviewing footage though.

@LailliaFee I definitely wasn't clapping my hands lol. It could be noises from the foundation/wood frame but I don't think so b/c these noises are not common. These are popping sounds. When I woke up suddenly i remember dreaming a kid was running down the hall and slammed my door open which would probably be the reason I jumped up the way I did. I was in a deep sleep too b/c I had not slept the night before my trip and the thin air had me extremely tired on top of that.

I'm glad I didn't sleep the night before b/c I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep. Nobody else was staying on my wing of the hotel, actually there were only a few guests in the entire hotel.

I saw the movie Paranormal Activity a few weeks ago. It was slow at first, but got interesting later. It is a good thing your room door didn't open. You would not have noticed anything until the next day. I would rather be scared after the fact, thinking about how crazy I was for booking that room for the night. I am attracted to fear if it is somewhat controlled . . . like reading a horror book, writing or telling a story, or watching a movie. But, darker fears are also interesting.

I have been involved in uncontrolled fear. Fear should be ignored if there is no rational basis for it. However, not understanding a paranormal experience can strengthen fear. Would you have been afraid if you were awake and experiencing those sounds? Uncontrolled fear can be quite an experience, but I can run away pretty fast. That is if my fear does not immobilze me and ruin my entire day.

As for the non paranormal, I fear bugs, but only the ugly ones. LOL!

The window had a screen on the outstide. Look at my room 418 inspection that I did when I first arrived at the hotel. I open the window and you can clearly see the screen. If something hit the screen it wouldn't make this kind of noise.

We stayed on the 4th floor and discovered "Chubbs" the raccoon (they lovingly call him) trying to "break in" our window at around 2 a.m. He apparently succeeded getting into another guest's room that night.

This video is comprised of multiple sound bytes from 4 hrs of footage, between 1 to 4 am. I've never heard of a raccoon hanging around a window for 4 hours. Also, the clock radio tried to come like 4 times when I first came into the room. There is a video on utube that shows orbs in this room, 418.

I actually believe this footage could be something else; we saw the raccoon trying to break in OUR room and he had successfully pried the screen away over time. The reason I believe??? because we captured something out back with a digital camera. Human-like eyes peering through a glowing gold mist. When I say eyes, I mean eyes,(including whites, iris and pupil) as well as eyebrows and nose. I wasn't a believer before that image was captured. Nothing would surprise me. Congrats on the video.

BTW, the picture I refer to will be posted on Gina Lanier's website sometime in the future. Hope she does the closeup of the entity...you will see eyes, etc. If she shows the noise-reduced version, you will see what appears to be "other" person/people to the right of the "obvious" and clear eyes. The image is back from the photo's intended subjects. I searched to find someone with a wide range of experience. She described the capture as an entity and NOT a ghost...she requested use of pic.

I have not heard back about when the pics will appear, yet. Gina said she will be sending me a copy of the pic for my approval before it hits her sight. It's been about 3-4 weeks or so since I wrote to her. Gina said the pic was of an entity, not a ghost...the shot IS creepy. I don't know what to think of it. The Stanley will also be getting the pics in May. (both original and noise-reduced.) They once had a scrapbook before it disappeared; these might start their new book, who knows.

BTW, our extended family is VERY conservative and when showing them this pic, no one would comment. No one knew what to say. One of my best friends said she didn't believe in ghosts but thought it might be a demon...in the noise-reduced image I see a "man's" smiling face, further back. My friend thought that I should erase the picture, entirely. Even those who would NEVER believe, including me, can't make any sense out of it.

After watching a couple of paranormal investigators investigate the 4th fl (top level) hallway on utube, they said a young boy roams the halls and bounces an object off the walls. These noises sound like something hitting the walls. Some of the noises are simular with different noise levels sometimes happening multiple times in a row. It was like something was trying to wake me up. When I woke up that 1 time I was in a deep sleep, it had to be a pirecing noise.

There were more than this but I didn't have time record every single one, I counted over 20 within the 3.9 hrs of footage. It was eerie b/c I was the only one on this floor!
