  • She was such a revelation in 1994 and it's a real shame she didn't perform at worlds the way she did here. Such immaculately presented (and choreographed) routines, particularly for someone so young.

Commonwealth Games judging is usually quite fair (free as it is of the politics and egos of the major rhythmic countries). With these kind of scores she would've been top 15-20 at the 1994 Europeans, which goes to show you just how good she was.

  • @Peaceplatform Actually I think if she had competed at 1994 Worlds and performed like this she would have/should have placed in the top 8.

  • @shmaykel - well I'd like to agree with you! I think considering she was from such a small RG country and was so young, this was never going to happen. But yes, this was a stellar competition for her – only a few errors across 12 routines – and compositionally and artistically all four were super. Her ball is my favourite.

  • that last catch should be named "the takahashi catch".

  • she is so expressive and intensely beautiful..mesmerising even after all these years

  • I remember her well from these games. Five gold medals! It really is a shame she didn't make it to the Olympics because of injury. She made such a huge impact in this sport in Australia and she will never be forgotten....

  • she amazing...truly beautiful..i cannot believe she is only 14!!
